yeah, that's my only concern... they ALWAYS do this... and IF they play it fair, then they should nominate both in the same category and let the votes decide... both (if saif also is as brilliant as he was in omkara) would have an equal chance then and both would be deserving... warna, i do feel that if they want both to win, they might shift him to the 'negative' category.... so let's see what happens...!

Well, that would be pretty ridiculous. Agreed Desu, you would have every right to be upset if they shift him to the negative category AGAIN for Qurbaan. His performance in Omkara was probably the best in his career IMHO. I guess it is also going to depend what performance appeals/or what movie does better at the box office, which is sad too. Though that does happen to be a factor with who gets these awards.😉

Edit: Actually, he has a really good chance anyways with his double role in LAK, which actually did pretty good at the box office if I remember correctly.

Barely a hit? Umm, its about to cross the 100 crore line in a few days. NY made 87 crores and we consider it a hit, don't we? Kaminey is Shahid's biggest hit so far. And if Shahid's performance in Kaminey was just average...then I don't know what a good performance is. Heck, it was even more than good or amazing.

Well Kaminey is definitely a hit. And definitely among my favourite films of the year. And Shahid gave the best performance of the year so far according to me.

Having said that I have absolutely zilch faith in Indian awards. Looking at just last year, Hrithik wouldn't even make it to the top three performances according to me (Naseeruddin Shan in A wednesday, Abhay Deol in OLLO, and Ranvir Shorey in Mithya were a lot better). But since none of them are stars, they get overlooked even in nominations.

And Star Screen had 8 nominations this year to accomodate Ranbir Kapoor in BAH (seriously what was that) and Akshay Kumar in SIK.

The only positive is that Filmfare atleast got rid of the villainous and comedic role categories.

Kaminey was semi hit according to boxofficeindia.com😎

Riya, it depends on personal choice regarding whether or not they like the performance..I have lot of friends and cousin who found the movie and performances strictly average... They were more suprised by priyanka's performance...

I never said it was, but its most def a super hit. UTV somehow plans on making more money by selling it to channels, I'm guessing. Do you know in what kind of circumstances this movie released in? First of all, some old hags from Censor Board gave it an A certificate, then there were some people who were offended by "teli" and this one other scene, on top of all this we had THE SWINE FLU..Mumbai and Pune's cinemas were closed down because of that. It's a hit, but just imagine what kind of business the movie had done if there were no such obstacles. If you think that it's an average film, then I really don't care, but calling Shahid's performance average?😆 Charlie and Guddu's characters were soo unique and hard to play, that I doubt any actor's character this year could touch their depth. The characters made Shahid performed, and he did his part very well.

Anyways, its stupid to argue with some people who thought that Shahid's performance was average. Because clearly, the entire world thinks differently.😊

I'm out.

Just one more thing, I LOVE how Shahid haters are up to date about him. I just LOVE it. They actually have the time and energy to pray for his failure. Talk about being lifeless.

Anyway, If films like SIK, Ghajini, and Dhoom 2 are going to be blockbusters, than I'd take the semi-hits and averages and even below-averages over them.

Well atleast Life Partner was below average. Wonder why it didn't flop? Has to be one of the worse movies I have seen in a while.

Anyway, quality of the film rarely matches up with box office results.

^^ That is true! But public is still the king.. Its because of the paying public tat bolly and these stars exsist! So everyone's opinion good bad or the ugly matters... Specially to the stars.. who want to have as bigger fan following as possible.
