Lolz, I know you'll think I'm saying htis on purpose, but Subhash K Jha.

He's the one who from day one has been prodding hte makers about the so called love scene and kisses.

Rensil recently says that kurbaan has such a powerful theme, that he hates for this one scene to overshadow the movie.

But leave it to Subhash to milk the saifeena angle.

I am glad Rensil said that. I feel very confused about Kurbaan on the whole. We have Dharma Production's stamp on the one hand, and then Rensil's direction and Anurag Kashyap's dialogue on the other. I am personally more intrigued by the latter, and worried by the former.

Hopefully it won't have the superficial treatment that big producers give to "serious" subjects like New York.

Rensil said its very hard hitting. There wont be any lipsynching to songs. The soundtrack will just be played in teh background and has a very sufi folkish feel to it.

He said that he incorporated that scene because it was crucial to the script. Unlike New York, Kurbaan focuses more on the couple's relationship and the mindset of a terrorist (which is why Irfan Khan turned the role down when it was offered to him first. He said its too disturbing and taxing for him as an actor to dwelve into the mind of a terrorist)

well irrfan khan has also said often that he won't play muslim terrorist roles. he also turned down black friday for the same reason (which i feel is probably a more hard-hitting film than kurbaan - i know i am prejudiced, but i kind of feel i am justified).

Even New York didn't have lip-syncing. Thats not what I mean by superficial though. My problem with New York was the superficial characterization of the leads. The backdrop is serious, but all the characters are all just cutesy.

anyway, lets not bring the New York fans into this. I hope Kurbaan is a better film than New York.

Oh no Geet the only reason I brought New York in was coz ppl thought it was the same story. But New York is more about an incident and how changed hte lives of three friends, while Kurbaan deals with the mindset of a terrorist. Aww Megha, that's not an spoiler htough girl. Rensil has said that about his movie. Its basically what its about. But at the same time, its a thriller.

I'm just glad to hear that Irfan was offered the role first. Meaning its very powerful if the first chioce was considered to be Irfan. I have faith that saif will do it full justice.

And yeah I hope you're right. I hope the characters are realistic, just as realistic as the situations.

Did you know saif, kareena, adn vivek were finalized for their respective roles (or atleast Rensil finalized them) before saif and kareena even hooked up?

Rensil said he was more intrigued by the Omkara trio!
