I was thinking maybe Rani, but I really do doubt they would be willing to gain weight for the role. But of course to play an anorexic, they are more than willing to as Flaviya stated. It is not just a Bollywood problem, but it is more pronounced here with glamour being a bigger factor with the styling. Beyonce was offered Jennifer Hudson's role in Dreamgirls, but she declined it because she didn't want to gain weight.

Before I was stumped, the one I think, who I could imagine doing the role and doing whatever was needed for it would be Konkona. Who else could have played her role in Life in a Metro? Anurag Basu said he imagined no one else because no one else would be willing to do it. Or Chutki in Aaja Nachle wiping snot from her nose and looking in complete disarray as the village bumpkin, she was great in her role. So I think Konkona Sen Sharma would be the best choice because she is willing to do whatever it takes to get into character.

A film with an overweight heroine would never even be watched in India...but yeh Vidya and Konkona are good choices...they would do it.

btw...I think you can get swimsuits in largers sizes too😆

As far as the weight gain goes, many of them are afraid that their hormones will go all wack. Renee was lucky. Sometimes, weight gain can cause hormones to change and vice versa....

But Rani (if she wanted to gain) could do it VERY WELL!

Dear sometimes some can lose weight some can not even they try so hard !! some cannot even put on weight !! I know a person who is about 28 years old he eats so much but cannot even put on a gm in weight and if I have a glass of water i will put on weight as if I have a glass of ghee !! But I think Rani is ideal She is the only one who could do this part !! This could be her cup of tea as a role !! 👍🏼
