i had ccome to US when he debuted, and me and my whole family (including my ABCD cousins) went to see Refugee. When we called up the theater to ask for show timing, they informed us with wrong timing. So when we got there, show had already started. Theater people said they will let us watch the movie for free for the next show time..
so we all go, and oh gosh...wat a BOREEEeee...at the end, my cousin is like my head is hurting from trying to figure out wat was worse, the actors or the movie😆😆

😆 mine hurt as well, but from trying to make my sisters laugh by emulating his stiff barely there neck LOL

Hrithik! His screen presence and he himself created a storm! It was like a fresh breeze thru bollywood, unfortunately don't feel the same abt him today.
Deepika had the biggest debut in terms of the movie.

So I feel these 2! Actually Salman as well!

Maine pyar kiya wasn't Salman's debut film. His first film was Biwi ho to aisi....or something like that. It starred Rekha and I can't remember the actor. Was it Mehra or Sheikh- dunno. Anyway, Salman didn't really have much of a role in that. Which is why pple often think that Maine pyar kiya was his first film.

hrithik roshan hands down!!

i mean seriously u had to be india to witness the phenomenon! yes it was indeed a phenomenon! hrithik was everywhere...news channels, news papers, magazines, hoardings.. everywhere!

we even got a cover story on him - India today!! it was only the third time that india today had a cover story on a bollywood star (they had mentioned this ...other two being amitabh n madhuri)

i remember reading newspapers...describing hrithik's craze all arnd.. how kids want to be like him..how everyone was raving abt him..

salman might have had a good debut too... but i guess media wasnt that active back then! hrithik's debut was a different story alltogether! no one can match upto that...

n deepika n asin? nahhhh... i have seen their debut also.. the craze was nothing as compared to hrithik... like i said u had to be india to believe that craze! it took the nation by storm!

I agree. His was the biggest debut ever. No one can beat that yet. I was in India then, you had to be there to see the craze. Girls slashed their wrists left and right for this guy. And through this all, I kept scratching my head as to why. This made me dislike Roshan Jr for a good number of years untill koi mil gaya. 😆
