Shahid Kapur had set tongues wagging when he failed to show up at Priyanka Chopra's birthday bash, giving out the impression that there was trouble in paradise and that he and Piggy Chops had broken up.
So, we asked him to clear the air on the issue. But Shahid simply claimed he was never in a relationship in the first place, and that he's still single.
"I think people feel the need to link me as I am single. I don't really like talking about my personal life and would rather keep it to myself. If I fall in love, I think I will let people know. In fact, I won't even need to tell anyone, for everybody will come to know automatically," says Shahid, who is apparently enjoying every bit of his bachelorhood.
The actor is clearly not averse to a relationship but would like to take some time before he gets into one.
"We need to connect. It is very important that two people connect and understand each other really well to be in a relationship," Shahid says, talking about what he would be looking for in a relationship.
In the meantime, the actor clarified that the reason he couldn't attend Priyanka's birthday party was because he was shooting for Parmeet Sethi's upcoming film on the day. He also stated he was in Mumbai, and not in some other city, as was widely believed.
But right now, romance has taken a back seat for Shahid for he is anxiously anticipating the fate of his next film, Vishal Bharadwaj's Kaminey.
