The television fame Prachi Desai has now moved on to become the star of silver screen. Having wooed the audience with her performance in "Rock On", Prachi is all set for the release of her next film. Staring Govinda, Fardeen Khan, Tusshar Kapoor and the new face Genilia, Life partner is a romantic comedy directed by Rumi Jaffrey and produced by Abbas Mustan. When quizzed Prachi about the movie's release she quipped, "The shooting for the movie is over and infact we have also completed our photo shoot. We are waiting for the multiplex issue to end after which the film will be released."
Speaking about her character in the movie, Prachi says, "I am paired opposite to Fardeen and this is my first romantic role so I am really excited about this. This character is much lighter than the other roles I have played either in television or Rock On. I will be playing an educated and modern girl whose values are intact." The movie is about friendship, family and values. "A perfect masala movie", concludes the actress.
Prachi is a newbie when it comes to bollywood yet her first movie was a blockbuster. "I have been fortunate to get such an opportunity to work with leading star cast. My first film is going to be special as for everyone their first film is memorable. Even though I have an experience of working in television, it's a new beginning for me in bollywood. I still have to improve myself and it's not an easy task", quips the bubbly Prachi.
Prachi has worked both for television and bollywood. When asked about the difference working in both the industry, she replied, "One truly realizes the difference after working in both. Television requires an actor to be spontaneous as you need to complete half an hour episode in day. Once your show starts, you don't get the time to read script and work upon the role. While in bollywood, you can work on the character very well and understand the script better."
Ask her about returning to television, Prachi gives a spontaneous reply. "I won't be returning as I will be busy with promotions for life partner and I also have a film in hand, "Once upon a time in Mumbai." But the actress is very confident of staying in touch with her television fans. "I will always be connected to television as the time has changed and we use television for movie promotions. So, I am sure my fans can see me on television as a guest in some reality show (Laughs)", says the ever smiling Prachi.
Prachi is currently working for Once upon a time in Mumbai and as the name suggests, it's about few happenings in the Mumbai city few years ago. "The movie has Ajay Devgan and Kangna but I am paired opposite to Emraan Hashmi. The movie is on a little darker side and luckily I got to work something different from rest of my roles", says the Rock On girl. Commenting on the various roles performed by her, Prachi said, "I am getting to experiment with them and that is the work of an actor. With every film, I pray I can prove myself and become successful in whatever I do."
