Kareena Kapoor is known to wear her feelings, and every fleeting thought, on her sleeves.
She and Priyanka became friends during the Aitraaz shoot, but when Prinks walked away with the accolades for her villain-act in the film, Bebo was left fuming. Things worsened when, during a concert tour, they had a shouting match and nearly came to blows. Their Pepsi advert with SRK and Priyanka's Pooh-act in Salam-E-Ishq, which was seen by many as a spoof of Kareena's Pooh in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, were the final nails in the friendship coffin.
So what's changed?
Despite hiccups like Drona and Love Story 2050, Priyanka has established her credentials as an actress of note with her work in Fashion and even Dostana. Kareena too has tasted commercial and critical success with Jab We Met. And with age, the two seem to have finally matured enough to have a decent relationship going, despite the natural competition. Either that or they are practising the old saying ' keep your friends close; but keep your enemies closer.
Bebo vs Priyanka
She had once stated to the press that the only actress of her generation that she likes is Rani Mukherji. When a journalist mentioned Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu, Bebo shot back, "I said 'actresses'."
Priyanka maintained her diplomatic veneer when she retorted, "Bebo is a more serious, and hopefully, more mature actress. I guess she's qualified to comment on my calibre. When I reach her level of experience, maybe I too can comment on my contemporaries. I like to let my work speak for me. And that includes Aitraaz of which Kareena was also a part." MEEOOW!!
Can't afford to fight each other anymore!
Amitabh Bachchan saw Shah Rukh as the usurper of his Bollywood throne. This rivalry, marked by sophisticated bandying of words and clever use of the media, came to the fore when SRK replaced Big B as the host of KBC and then acted in the remake of Don. Since then Big B has started airing (or venting) his feelings and thoughts on his blog.
But since then the two have tried hard to be seen as friends, with SRK showing up at the Drona premiere and wishing Amitabh a speedy recovery during his recent illness. The ill-will definitely seems to be a thing of the past now with Big B texting SRK after SRK's surgery and letting the world know through his blog.
SRK: "I was getting depressed in hospital, so I came away."
Big B: "I was planning to visit you in the hospital."
SRK: "Come home sir, we shall play some games."
Big B: "Don't take it too lightly. Take rest and do not get into any kind of activity."
Big B also stated that he planned to visit King Khan the next day ' which he did.
Masala! thinks
We think the duo are getting together cause they are worried about the inroads being made into the KBC territory by a certain Mr Anil Kapoor. Tee hee...
2 Khan's company but 3 Khan's a crowd
One of the best slapsticks to come out of the B'wood stables was Andaz Apna Apna. Surprisingly, Salman overshadowed Aamir in the comedy stakes. That and their contrasting work ethics resulted in Aamir stating that he'd never work with Salman again. But all that is now in the past.
Off late Aamir has been bonding with Salman, especially after the SRK-Salman fallout. Aamir and Kiran are regular dinner guests at Salman's place. And now Aamir has even convinced Salman to give up drinking, at least for the duration of the shoot of Veer, as Aamir felt that Sallu did not look fit enough in the rushes. And guess what! Salman listened. He has not touched alcohol since his birthday in December!
Masala! wonders
Can't all the three Khans be friends at the same time!? When SRK and Salman were on talking terms, Aamir kept his distance and now it's SRK's turn to be on the outside!
Gen next too!
Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor had more than their debut film (Saawariya) in common ' they were also childhood friends. But things went awry when Deepika Padukone happened.
