I'm happy that my production house Dharma could join forces on a film such as Kuch Nahi Ho Sakta for Lead India that has youth icons on it talking to the impressionable generation, asking them to come out and make a difference. Watch the film, it premieres on Zoom at 10 am today, but before that... let me lead you through the cast and tell you how they all played different but critical roles for Kuch Nahi Ho Sakta. Imran Khan It was during a conversation with Imran that the actual idea of doing something during this Lok Sabha election came along. Imran is 20-something, and he's genuinely feels that it is cool to care. It is he who started the ball rolling. Abhishek Bachchan Abhishek is usually a great prankster, but when he came on set to shoot this film, he not only fully understood the importance of what he was about to do, he also gave it the kind of due diligence it needed. He is intelligent enough to understand the point of this exercise, and his involvement was 100 per cent. Priyanka Chopra I was on the sets only when she and Abhishek recorded. She took her time understanding her lines, she actually stopped to get the nuances right, she asked questions. And, when she recorded her bit, you could tell she actually felt what she was saying. She sat with the script writer (Niranjan Iyengar) and she took the longest to record because she is a super sincere girl. Kareena Kapoor Kareena is the sibling I never had. I just love her. She is the only one who came on set wearing a print, everyone else came in solids. And once she was there, she was all there. Ritiesh Deshmukh He comes from a political family, and he knows the importance of an exercise such as this. He is one of my closest friends and is extremely popular with the youngsters ' thanks to some of the light-hearted movies he has done. Shahid Kapoor Again a close friend. He can walk in and out of my home whenever he chooses to; and he is the only one who refused to use the teleprompter because he said it distracted him. So he actually learnt his lines, and said them the way it they were meant to be, with true feeling. Ranbir Kapoor He is the coolest and the fastest. He came on set one day earlier to understand from Tarun Mansukhani, the film director, exactly what was required of him. And, when he found it was too crowded because many actors were recording that day, he had no problem coming back the next day! Farhan Akhtar It was important to have Farhan on this film because after Rock On!, he's an iconic figure and an entire generation connects with him; he did the recording in his own unique style. Deepika Padukone She toned down her beauty while recording for this video and yet, there she was so real, so beautiful. She's super punctual, super professional and a lovely girl to work with. Asin She's the only one from the lot above with whom I have no personal vibe because I haven't met her socially. I loved her in Ghajini and I requested a common friend to ask her if she would be on this video and she agreed. That was really nice of her. Sonam kapoor She's like a breath of fresh air, very lovely. I'm like an uncle to her because her parents, Sunita and Anil, are my friends.
