YRF is obsessed with Punjab and they think that the Golden Temple is their lucky charm.

I'm punjabi, but yeah. They could start basing their stories on other people as well.

Anushka Sharma and Shahid Kapoor in Next Yash Raj Movie



Anushka Sharma who made a dream debut with Yash Raj's 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' opposite Shah Rukh Khan has signed her next film with the Yash Raj banner, alongside Shahid Kapoor. This yet untitled film to be directed by Parmeet Sethi will be the 2nd film under Yash Raj Films for the lead pair. It may be known that Shahid Kapoor is working in the Rani Mukherji starrer 'Hadippa', which was stalled for sometime.

The Bangalore girl Anushka Sharma who is under an exclusive contract with Yash Raj Films will ultimately act 3 films under the banner. It is also being reported that director Parmeet Sethi has also written the script for the film, and is under a 3-film contract with producers.

It is known that Parmeet Sethi made his debut with Aditya Chopra directed 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' in 1996. The shooting for the yet untitled film, which is a romantic family-drama and based in Punjab will go on the floors by the end of 2009.

Anushka Sharma Pairs Up With Shahid Kapur?

By all chances, Anushka Sharma and Shahid Kapur can be seen paired opposite each other in Yashraj's untitled venture to be directed by Parmeet Sethi.

Trying new actors and giving chances to debutants seems to be the new mantra of Yashraj Films . After introducing Anushka in the runaway hit Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi , the production house is reported to be making another film with her in female lead. And Shahid, who's already working in the banner's 'Hadippa' (tentatively titled) with Rani Mukherjee , is set to be Anushka's hero.

According to sources, Parmeet Sethi has written the script which Aditya Chopra liked instantly and decided to back the project. Well, Parmeet's association with the YRF has been since he acted in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge . It's heard that Parmeet has also signed a contract with YRF for three films.

The film is believed to be a romantically themed family drama set in Punjab. It is reported that Adi recommended Anushka's name to Parmeet for the film. And Shahid reportedly gave nod to the project once he heard the narration and his character sketch.

But following the YRF convention, everyone is tight-lipped about the project. The movie will reportedly go on floors by the end of this year.

As for now, Yashraj Films is waiting for their year's first release New York , starring John Abraham , Katrina Kaif and Neil Nitin Mukesh .

Parmeet Sethi turns director

Actor Parmeet Sethi has joined the ranks of actors turning directors. Parmeet, who made his acting debut with Yash Raj's DILWALE DULHANIYA LE JAYENGE, will now also make his directorial debut with a Yash Raj film. Yes, Yash Raj will produce Parmeet's first directorial venture, which, in all probability, will star Shahid Kapur in the lead role.

Parmeet's decision to direct a film was not an impulsive one. In fact, the actor had been working on the script for almost two years now. Let's await the official announcement from YRF.
