Hosts for the evening Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan are in character from the word go! On the red carpet, they were overheard discussing that Karan Johar had started the show. "I just hope we don't end up finishing it," they mock shuddered! As the newest Khan on the block said, "There will be Rekhaji, Rakeshji out there...," the latest entrant from the Kapoor khandaan added, "Yaar, I'm just scared of Rishiji and Neetuji..." Ranbir, Imran impress Shreya!
A happy Shreya Ghoshal, who won Best Playback Singer couldn't stop raving about anchors Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan. She said, "Imran and Ranbir are so hot, so witty, but they both have girlfriends, so no luck for me!" She was all praises for Oscar winner AR Rahman, too and his passion for music.
Sonam sets the mood right
Sonam Kapoor, looking ravishing and every bit the diva in white, walked up the red carpet to be quizzed on her favourite films and stars. "They're all great," she said diplomatically. But when quizzed on whether Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai were her favourite pair of 2008, she couldn't resist quipping, "I think Abhishek and John were great too!" We agree.. that was one unforgettable 'Dostana' !
Twosome awesome
Saifeena also arrived on the red carpet, with the Nawab giving a helping hand to his would-be begum with her blouse. He jokes, "Shah Rukh and I received death threats and were told not to host the Filmfare Awards if we valued our lives and homes!" While Saif was dressed in a "suit", Kareena wore a white, embellished Manish Malhotra sari, with jewellery from Gitanjali, for whom she is the brand ambassador.

Kangana Ranaut came ready to pick up the Black Lady dressed in a black "Gothic unstructured gown" with boyfriend Adhyayan Suman. Nominated for the Filmfare Best Actress category, she said, "The nomination itself was enough to make me celebrate!"
Suman, in a Fendi suit, was excited to be attending his first Awards ever. On whether show anchors Ranbir-Imran would match up to the irrepressible duo Saif Ali Khan and SRK, he said, "They are the new generation. I'm sure they'll be superb!"
