British Honour for Irrfan Khan

MUMBAI: Actor Irrfan Khan, who has been part of several British productions, will be felicitated by the House of Commons in London on Monday for
his contribution to cinema.
"As actors, we keep looking for acknowledgement from various quarters and this one came as a big surprise. Such honours inspire you and spur you on to do better work. Incidentally, my film career began with a British film, The Warrior, which was nominated at the BAFTA award,'' said Khan, who is currently in London. "It is a privilege for me. The world is definitely changing and looking at us differently. We are being noticed.''
Khan, who has already won the Screen Actor Guild Award for his performance in Slumdog Millionaire, is a familiar face in the West, working ininternational films like The Mighty Heart, Darjeeling Unlimited, The Warrior, Such A Long Journey and The Namesake.
Pandit Ravishankar, Yash Chopra and Gurinder Chadha are among the others who have been honoured by the House of Commons.
