A lot of people on IF didn't like SIK either, but it was a blockbuster and I agree. It's because they are afraid that Akki would be the new 'King' and of course we can't have that!

lol even has akshay has accepted now that the movie has flopped..why to blame the media? 😕 were we blaming the media when they were calling akshay the biggest superstar in india etc etc..so why now? if the movie has flopped n is pathetic they will obviously say...

today i saw on news...some award function 1-2 days back..farah khan was the host (yet again) so she askd akshay that we know u have many suits..like formal wear...so how many u actually have? so he said..well its definitely more than the collection of my last film..n everyone really laughed..lol.. waise its good instead of making fun of others..hez laughing on himself only which is good....

It is a good thing to laugh at self. Not many can do that.

As for media manipulation, it happens. It happened in RNBDJ's case. The film is actually just a moderate Hit and Ghajini ate onto it's business. But it was made a super hit courtesy media just to compete with Ghajini which is a Blockbuster.

This kind of manipulation is not new. It used to happen even in 60s-70s when the medium was just news papers. One eg. of such manipulation was when Raj Kapoor asked a paper to print that Dimple Kapadia is his and Nargis's illegitimate daughter for Bobby promotion. It became a big hoopla and people were waiting to see Dimple and Rishi onscreen.

yeah maya...even they were saying the same thing...akshay atleast didnt make fun of others...khud pe joke maara..lol... not everyone can do it...

n abt the media..well they have their favorites! abhishek bachchan is one...they really project him like anything..srk is another...rab ne was hyped so much by the media..even though if u compare to ghajini...it didnt even come close to it (business wise) ...
while talking abt the no.1 spot..they'll always mention srk,aamir n salman..i just cant understand how can they include salman in that? everyone knows hez not much of an actor..n how many flops has he given..im sure even he doesnt remember 😕 they forget hrithik..lol..who has given back to back superhits.. i guess cuz hez not too media friendly...whatever is the reason...media clearly manipulate things... it happens!

i watched this movie yesterday...it's pathetic...it doesnt even deserve 1 crore..

if product dont have worth than what media will do and its good film collect 12 crores in 1st week other wise its not deserve for 5 crores.

I have never been a fan of Akshay and i don't think I have liked any of his movies since Khakee but I think the media is being unfair on him.

It is just doing a smear campaign against him. Knowing how Indian media works I wouldn't be surprised if one of his competitors are involved in it.

Yeah so the movie didn't make a profit but they gotta understand that the budget was HUGE. You don't pay more for a movie ticket just because the budget of the said movie is three or four times the budget of average desi movies.

Also, yeah Akshay makes some lame brainless comedies but what about those so called "top actors", their movies ain't cinematic masterpieces either.

how can a movie be a hit by a fluke?
