Because Frieda is IN right now. By the way, did you mean Aishwarya's fame in bollywood? Because I really don't remember Aish doing any full-blown hollywood movie. Provoked, The last legion, Bride and Prejudice all tanked and were criticized heavily. And they were not hollywood movies. And let's wait until Pink Panther 2 releases to go so far, shall we? Ofcourse, Frieda has not done a hollywood film either....but she is popular right now in hollywood.

My point is....don't let fanaticism blind you. Seriously. Yes, Aishwarya is known in hollywood. And good for her. And thanks to her for being the first one to be on those shows and for bringing the cultural India into the limelight. I don't think anyone wants to or needs to take that away from Aishwarya (not even me.....even though I can't stand her performances for the most part...😆). But hey...you gotta give credit where its due.

Despite all that, Frieda is the IN and the IT thing in Hollywood right now. Everyone is mesmerized more by her 15 minute role than Anne Hathaway's performance in Rachel getting married (which is a shock...because AH was just a bubblegum actress not quite long ago....so it'd make more sense if they went ga-ga over her) . Frieda sells. She has been constantly on the yahoo and hotmail search engines since october or november (when the movie started getting its limited release). Everyday......you go there....theres something or the other mentioned about her or SM. She was listed on the best dressed list for what she wore on golden globes. Yes, the credit goes to the stylist...but she pulled it off. People want to know more about her. They love her. She looks exotic to them. And this is great because believe me people in the west could care less about a "singing.....dancing" bollywood heroine. Even Clint Eastwood complemented her. Does Frieda alone deserve all the fame?! No, certainly not. However, she is getting it and I'm glad she is. getting it because its seriously high time West acknowledged Indian beauty.

She represents India and greatly l might add. Her clothes are awesome, she speaks well and seems grateful in all her interviews. So instead of putting her down to elevate Aish....why not be happy that an Indian woman is being noticed in the worldwide media in a field other than science or technology.Just a suggestion?😉

but someone actually brought up whats her face to diss on Ash and that's what samilia was commenting about.. because you can't compare what Freida's getting right now (15 minutes of fame) to Ash's..

Freida is the IT thing now, far ahead of Aishwarya. Frieda is known ,and she will def go much ahead! she represents the modern INDIA. She is graceful in her inteviews, and humble at the same time!

I really don't think Aishwarya is the jealous type. It does not make sense. Amitabh being jealous of SRK and slamming SM makes total sense but Aishwarya being jealous of AR Rahman does not make sense at all. Even if she was the jealous type (which I highly doubt she is), why would she be jealous of someone of a different gender and a different field? I think she genuinely meant what she said about AR Rahman.

Sure you are right. Aishwarya is a veteran in bollywood and Frieda is a novice in the world of acting. Not comparable. However, the tone of the post sounded condescending to me and I wrote what I did. I think people should give credit to Aish for bringing Bollywood to hollywood and to Frieda for putting it into limelight once again. I mean lets face it....we are all visual creatures....if Frieda looked like miss piggy down the road.....most people would not want to know about her. But she is beautiful and charismatic and that's why she is getting all the accolades. I don't think it had anything to do with her acting.....she only had a 15 minute role and she obviously wasn't very good at it as the rest of the cast.....but she is very popular right now and thats something because no other Indian actress has received so much buzz besides Aish ofcourse (when she was starting out).

I think that you didn't understand my comment, I'm really happy for Freida. It's great to see an another actress known in hollywood.

But i think some people are so bad toward Aish and i don't know why. I come from France and we're happy when one of our actor make a movie everywhere even if the movie is bad.

Here is what always happens. Lovanika praises Ash to a very extreme extent that can be kind of grating to read. People who dislike Ash have a problem with it. And then the usual flame wars begin. For the record, I agree with flaviya on the topic. She praised A.R. Rahman; that is all I take away from the interview. Let's move on.
