Actor Poonam Dhillon had signed a film opposite Nana Patekar in actor Sanjay Kapoor's It's My Life (working title of the Harman Baweja ' Genelia D' Souza starrer) where she was supposed to play the role of Harman Baweja's mother. But sources reveal that she has backed out of the film recently.

Poonam confirms the news and says, "I decided on not doing this film because the role didn't turn out to be the way it was portrayed to me before. This film is a re-make of a South Indian film and they were supposed to work on my character. They promised to define the role well. But, later I discovered that things were not going as planned and so I decided against it."

Poonam says she is adamant about not taking up a project just for the sake of it. The actor says, "The changes in my character in the film didn't get incorporated and that's when I felt that the role was not worth it. So, Sanjay Kapoor and I mutually agreed that I will not be a part of this movie."

Poonam is now waiting for meatier roles to come her way. She says, "I might soon begin work on another film, the story idea of which has been finalised. I would like to get into film-making at some point, but before I do, I want to act in one or two more films so I can learn more about the technicalities of film-making."
