Welcome to the FILM OF THE WEEK thread. Each week we can discuss older (well ones not been released in the last few weeks) movies here.

You can discuss anything from chemistry of the actors to the stories.

(P.S Before i get accused of favouritism for a certain jodi-Ok i am biased not going to deny that this and main hoon na, kal ho na ho have been requested 😃😃 so if you want a movie please request😳😳)

Story:(Synopis taken from wikipedia.com and added to by me 😛)

This is a simple story Payal has been in love with Rajiv since they were in school, simple girl whos more into studies and family than clothes etc like the other girls and would do anything for rajeev and they have friend mambo. Anyways Rajiv (Shahid Kapoor) wants to be one of the popular kids of his college. However, due to the lack of a girlfriend, Danny (Shabhir) and Javed (Kapil Jhaveri) mock him. He decides to ask Payal (Amrita Rao) to become his girlfriend on they say so of love guru(Yash tonks) of their college 😆 so that he can go on a trip away with them since they say its only for couples and tells her that he's in love with her. Payal returns his "feelings" and agrees before the trip the spend time together 😳. Both of them accompany Danny, Javed and their girlfriends to a midnight picnic - however, Rajiv's drink is laced by Danny and, being intoxicated, he behaves badly with Payal. They are not able to make up, he insults her there and they have a arguement again at college and their relationship falls apart. He promises all his 'cool' friends that take her side that he will date the coolest girl

Just after that, Alisha Sahay (Shenaz Treasurywala) begins to attend Spencer College. She is modern, bold and beautiful and Rajiv wants to make her his girlfriend - and succeeds by pretending that he knows sachin tendulkar. He spends time with Alisha, and in-between, with Payal, with whom he has rekindled a friendship. Though Alisha is nice, Rajiv realizes that it is Payal he is really in love with, when he realises how different they are, he gets annoyed about alishas clothes, shes more into her self that payal. It seems that Payal starts to fall in love with Mambo (Vishal Malhotra), which leaves Rajiv jealous and insecure.

When Alisha finds out that Payal is Rajiv's ex-girlfriend, she tells Payal to back-off. Mambo tries to intervene, but his actions are misunderstood by Rajiv and they have a fight. Rajiv leaves with Alisha and involuntarily tells her that he's really in love with Payal. At a party, he apologizes and admits his love for Payal; she accepts both. Alisha gives up on Rajiv and leaves - and Mambo gets the girl he has been in love with for a year, Polly.

Overall, I liked this movie although there were some parts that I am not a big fan of.

I have always loved Shahid-Amrita jodi and they have a sizzling on screen chemistry so I am biased there 😳

I didn't like some of the Mambo and his cheap jokes scenes. I thought some of them were too awful to enjoy especially the scenes with the servant.

I didn't like the other girl at all who played Alisha's role. I think she hasn't got much talent for acting and mostly her expressions didn't deny this opinion either.

I enjoyed the music - picturization was good too.

I am not sure if all the characters were real or predictable but I still enjoyed it. My favorite scene is the last scene were Shahid confesses his love.

Okay, I watch this movie a long time ago, I remember just few parts.

1. What is your favourite scene?? When Amrita heards what shahid was bragging to he's friends. He was just trying to be cool with he's friends but that made her mad. It's very serious scene but amrita acted very well. It's actually my first movie of Amrita and I loved her in it. Especially that song Aisa kyon, she's too cute. Loved her.

2. What do you like about the story?? I like the story because it relates to real life situation.

3. What do you think of all the characters? Shahid-Amrita's chemistry was so cute and kind of seem like real life couple. And that guy who played Shahid's friend was funny in the movie.

4. Do you think that this is fairly accurate picture of typical guys ? All guys are different and similar but yeah this movie relates to most guys.

5. What do you think of the comparision between the two girls and them? Like I said before, I watched this movie a long time ago and the only girl I loved in the movie was Amrita. The other girls were extra that I wasn't interest in...LOL

Probably the karva chauth scene when Payal says that nothing matters more to me than your happiness

THE BIGGEST CHICK FLICK EVER

3. What do you think of all the characters?

I think they put it really close to how real people would be, Payal-the shy girl next door who's had that really long crush on her best guy friend Rajeev-The upcoming cute guy of the college craving for the stud image Alisha-The beauty queen that constantly craves for attention and I am the center of the universe attitude

4. Do you think that this is fairly accurate picture of typical guys ?

Not really, but it captures it in a fair manner

5. What do you think of the comparision between the two girls and them?

I think both were at extremes but I think its more of a show that love doesn't have to be packaged extravagantely to be appreciated..

other thoughts....

Whenever I think of this movie all I can think of are the colors baby pink, yellow, light blue, light green...anything cutesy... Thats what really the film is, a super cute girl movie...hardcore 100% for breakup nights...

1. What is your favourite scene??

I have so many.. i simply absolutely LOVE this movie. this is what made me crazy about Amrita Rao and Shahid Kapoor!!!! alright.. there was the whole scene when he proposes to payal for the first time.. then the one where rajeev comes to her house at night and he sees her diary.. then the one where payal is trying to ask rajeev about the "injury" to his arms.. and of course when payal comes to rajeev's house to give his sister the book and then they is this cute awkwardness between them!!! ooo ya.. the ending was also verycute.. i just love the movie all over!!! and i just keep on seeing it again and again and again!

2. What do you like about the story??

Payal's innocence.. mambo's sharathnes... rajeev's stupidness.... and the whole story.. the acting.. the chemistry between Shahid and Amrita is sizzzling and effective up to date!

3. What do you think of all the characters?

Absolutely LOVE it!! even the fake sacchin is funny..

4. Do you think that this is fairly accurate picture of typical guys ?

Rajeev!! only bcuz alot of the college guys are like this!! they only want one thing!! and we all know what it is!

5. What do you think of the comparision between the two girls and them?

I love Payal's character.. but i think that her character is a little TOOO sweet and pretty!😆.. Alisha's character is a little too sexy! but nevetheless i guess they are girls like her too!

Just one thing! Payal always considered and cared about Mambo as a friend and never started falling in love with her!!!😊

1. What is your favourite scene?? My favorite scene is when Rajiv realizes what a jerk he's been to Payal and his friends

2. What do you like about the story?? I like that the storyline relates to real life

3. What do you think of all the characters? I really liked Payal and that guy who plays Rajiv's best friend, I think his name was Mambo

4. Do you think that this is fairly accurate picture of typical guys ? Definately, I know that not all guys are like that but there are some like that

5. What do you think of the comparision between the two girls and them? I didn't really care for the other girl, she was too rude. Payal was my favorite, she was simple and sweet
