Srk Doesn't know much about Marketing -Aamir

Shah Rukh had planned to
give ushers and theatre
staff the 'Suri' look too,
but changed his mind at
the last minute, Comment.

That is his decision, I mean the
entire team of Yash Raj would
have certain ideas, I am not
aware of the film as I have not
seen it and I don't know what
kind of film it is. I see Shah
Rukh on television everyday
giving interviews to every single
channel and to newspaper.
It's good that he is working hard
at promoting his film but that's
not marketing that is PR. He
doesn't know much about the
concept of marketing. Marketing
is what we did for Ghajini with all the multiplexes across
the country having their
staffers get the Ghajini look;
that is not PR. I didn't really see
any of those things happening
for Rab Ne… But he has gone
full hog on the PR front and I
am happy to see that. But he
should really work hard at marketing
and promoting himself.

What's the status quo on
your relationship with
SRK, some people say you
both are enemies while
some insist that you both
are friends?

(Laughs) There is a high regard
between Shah Rukh and me for
each other and we are not enemies.
I just feel that a lot of the
media likes to take a very
extreme stand and I can understand
why it is attractive to
them and the readers. Shah
Rukh may have said one sentence
jokingly and I might have
said one jokingly too. It doesn't
mean that we are enemies, it
doesn't mean that we don't
respect each other or any of
that sort.

How do you remain
friends with SRK and
Salman?

I have known both Shah Rukh
and Salman for years now.
What they do as individuals is
really their choice and how they
treat their own relationship is
something no one else has a
right to interfere in. So I respect
that I have my personal equation
with Salman and Shah
Rukh.

so true if u think bout it, this is the very first time srk really went well tried to go over board i guess he thought he was ganna loose the battle with aamir so hes almost on all t.v channels giving so many interviews got a new hair cut (the shooting for Karans film hasnt started, he go it early to get media more hyped up and around him) hes smart when it cums to crap like dat for example staying in the news 24\7 :P launching so many useless products and also magazines which he never does before 😕 he knows how to sell just himself alone but doesnt know jacksh*t about how to sell(market) something else oh well hats off he tried for RNBDJ mad it a simple "hit" to bad the "hit" will soon get demolished by aamirs film and also CCTC will do well probably much better then Rab Ne

i see fashion's lead star taken a filmfare and aamir takin a film fare and asin for new comer and farhan aktar and kangana taken supporting and comdey would be akshay(singh is kingg) or bobby from RNBDJ :) music wise i think mostly fashion and aamirs film maybe yuvraaj (i dun think it was a hit so not sure but music was good in the film) probably rock on will get sumthing

I like Aamir and all, but there is a reason why SRK's films have a record of being commercially successful. He is a star, and he is good at selling himself. Maybe not other things but definitely himself.

What is wrong if someone whos a big name or anyone infact gives interviews etc to publicise their films. ALL films do this in different ways and am sure no srk fan cares who are going to actually see his films. Anyways Aamir is right its PR not maketing since hes making people aware of the film not selling it.

who cares wether your selling yourself or your movie or bringing awareness because at the end of the day its all about the revenues raked in....and if SRK can get people to come to the theatre by showing up on tv and flashing his cute dimpled smile, then tough luck.....hes got the magic, how many stars are capable of doing this? he has no affair that he's gonna make public and talk about to get attention....he's simply talking about the movie in interviews....so he's selling the movie and very successfully might i add.
