Mumbai, July 26: It seems that split with the capricious Kareena Kapoor is working in Shahid Kapoor's favour. The star is clearly riding the popularity charts and is now being seen as the strongest contender for the top 5 slot. Although, 'Kismat Konnection' has been criticized on several fronts, yet, it has turned out to be a hit.

So, the 'lover boy' of Bollywood is all set to rule the filmdom. During his association with Bebo, Shahid's film had bombed one after the other. After his debut film, 'Ishq Vishk Pyar Vyar', it was only 'Vivah', which had done some decent business. But after the couple broke-off, Shahid's career took off. His 'Jab We Met' with Kareena turned out to be a super-hit and 'Kismat Konnection', his second film post split, is rumoured to be doing a brisk business of about 21 crore.

On the other hand, Kareena's latest flick 'Tashan' bombed at the BO. News has it that post split, Shahid is turning out to be a thorough professional and is completely focused during work. His professionalism has become the talk of the town.

'Good friend' Vidya Balan and his co-star in 'Kismat Konnection' fondly talks about his professionalism, "Shahid is the most unselfish co-star I have ever come across as well as a very disciplined and talented actor. He puts in so much of hard work in his performance that it in a way inspires you to work harder and I respect him for that".

So, Shahid is all set to carve a niche for himself in the top five slot. Bebo was clearly a distraction for him, then wonder, who is his lucky mascot? Some 'good friend', isn't it Shahid?

That is great news glad shahids films doing well he deserves it hes worked hard and hes not just a two film wonder thats been hyped hes done some good films along the way :) about time he got justice. Vidya and amrita are both very lucky for him given him some of his biggest hits.

the reason for shahids success is because he works hard, acts well and is modest even after giving 3 solo hits , whereas kareena gave one solo hit and started thinging she is bollywoods number one actress, which is probably why tashan flopped , because kareena needed to be brought back to earth. i really hope shahid becomes increasingly successful and gives some super duper hits(and stays as humble as he is today) as he has the potential i think kaminay and the movie hes doing with his dad pankaj kapur will be brilliant.
