Love can wait, Priyanka is busy competing with other actresses right now. And the first amongst the lot has to be now-friend-now-foe Kareena Kapoor. "I'm not here to make friends, I'm in this industry to work.

And I keep my personal life personal, preferring not to share it with anyone," says the actress archly. Then, she goes on to give a quotable quote, "If there isn't any competition, there's nothing to strive for. The desire to excel leads to the desire to improve."

And it is not only verbal volleys that the actress is learning. "I learnt a martial art form Gatka for the role of a bodyguard for one of my films... And that is the quality that differentiates me from others — I'm willing to learn. The day I feel complacent and think there's nothing more to learn, I'll die."

With a certain Herman Baweja around, is she planning to tie the knot anytime soon? "Kyun aap meri shaadi karana chahti hain? I'm still young and have a lot to achieve." But there are the Boys in Blue who have completely floored Priyanka. She bumped into the 15-man squad at the Heathrow Airport, London, recently.

She was there to look after her father who is unwell. Priyanka says, "They even inquired about my father's health. Whenever I get the time, I try catching up on the matches. Dravid has always been my favourite. There're no two ways about the fact that he's a great cricketer."

Priyanka also mentioned her 18-year-old cricket-fanatic sibling Siddharth to the cricketers. In no time, a blue T-shirt changed hands as the men got busy penning personal messages for him. "I didn't know how to react when they gave me the tee. You had to see my bro-ther's face!" she smiles.

Priyanka Chopra has had enough of soft, feminine roles. Year 2007 will see the actor carry forward her sporty image

New Delhi, March 13: Remember the soft-spoken Simmi Ahuja in Bluffmaster, who breaks up with her fianc when she finds out that he is a cheat? Or Rani, who is the object of affection of two friends Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi? Actor Priyanka Chopra wants to break out of that sweet, simple girl mode and get into the thick of things. And she has been working hard in that direction.

It is Gatka, a popular Sikh martial art, which is keeping Chopra preoccupied. After displaying her martial art skill in Farhan Akhtar's Don, she has been training rigorously under a specialist from Ludhiana for Goldie Behl's forthcoming film Drona. Abhishek Bachchan plays a superhero in the movie, while Chopra plays his bodyguard. "It's easy to become typecast in Bollywood, so I want to keep doing different things. Besides, there is always a little bit of me in all the characters I play, and I have always been sporty," says the actor who replaced Sushmita Sen as the brand ambassador of luxury watch Tag Heur. Portions of her action sequence have been shot in Czech Republic.

Chopra is essaying a similar action role in Love Story 2050, a futuristic film spanning from 2007 to 2050. Chopra is paired opposite Harman Baweja, and plays two characters — one set in 2007 and the other in 2050. "It is challenging because it is all based on our own imagination, but the movie has an exciting script and it was great fun working on it," she says

Incidentally, Chopra is also rumoured to be seeing Harry Baweja's son. "Harman is a great friend," she begins and then adds, "He is very, very talented and he has done really well in the movie. It used to be great fun on the sets since this was a rare occasion when I was the senior. Harman's older than me, but I used to bully him a lot," she laughs. While Chopra is eagerly awaiting the release of the two movies, the other films that will be released this year are Guddu Dhanoa's Big Brother, opposite Sunny Deol, and God Tussi Great Ho, a comedy opposite Salman Khan. Both the movies are supposed to release in the next few months. "I wouldn't have realised that I have a funny bone in me but for God Tussi... It was a wonderful experience, really," she says.

So, is she happy with the way her career has shaped up? Chopra smiles contentedly. "I believe that whenever you walk, you take a step forward. There has been a qualitative improvement in my films, from Andaaz to Aitraaz to Salaam-e-Ishq. It is great to be part of a wonderful lineage of actors who have done good work in the industry," she says. Point taken.

"Doing skydiving with my Prince Charming is my sexiest fantasy. After all, what could be more exciting and daring than falling down the sky from the height of 30-35 thousand foot?"
What Priyanka saying, may be it sound a bluff. But not many knows, the delicate beauty is how daring in the adventurous activities. "I love adventure sports. Only few know that I indulged myself in quite many adventurous activities before. "Bungee jumping is another sport that thrills me to bits. But the craziest thing remains the skydiving that I did while in Switzerland from 30 thousands foot which was really crazy," she said with adding, "It was a heavenly feeling falling freely down on the earth."
Not only that, she has not taken dummy to do the stunts in film 'Don'. She did it on her own. "I prefer doing stunts on my own because of my adventurous nature. Adventure adds thrill to you life," said Priyanka. Hey, guys, are you hearing the daring gal? Before wooing her, you better test how strong you are in adventurous activities; otherwise it will create lot of problem in future. Right!

NO TIME OUT HERE: Priyanka and her Tag clad wrist shared camera space in the Capital.

New Delhi: Actress Priyanka Chopra has a new job. No, she is not leaving films, she has just joined actor Shah Rukh Khan as the female brand ambassador of Tag Heuer.

While in the Capital, Priyanka showed off her girlie side in a soft white dress as she and her Tag clad wrist shared camera space.

And as she sat down for a little chat, she began with the obvious.

"There are so many luminaries who are attached to Tag Heuer. It gives me immense pride to be a part of this league," Priyanka said.

But coming to everyone's current favourite topic, who gets her vote as the hottest cricketer?

"I have always liked Rahul Dravid a lot and I think he has led our team really well," Priyanka gushed.

And finally, the lady also had a message for the Indian cricket team.

"We always put too much pressure on them. They are in great form right now and played well in the warm-up matches. So I am sure they will do well there. The only message I have for them is 'do your best and we are very proud of you'," Priyanka said.

Now, coming back to the watches, if you think your taste matches Priyanka's be ready to shell out over Rs 1.5 lakh.

Skimpy clothes and raunchy dances may titillate audiences, but the true art of sensuality lies in a woman's eyes, says actress and former Miss World Priyanka Chopra.

"Sensuality is in a woman's eyes rather than the clothes she wears," the 24-year-old actress said in an interview.

"Sensuality will have a degree of exposure but one should look attractive and beautiful and not vulgar," she added.

"Sensuality should be in the body language of a woman and not by being cheap," said Priyanka, who has acted in about 30 films and has seven set for release this year.

As a young girl, Priyanka did not nurse any acting dreams, but said the Miss World title pitchforked her into films. She signed her first film in 2002.

"I got offers for films and I thought there was nothing wrong in giving it a shot," she said, who received death threats from conservative vigilantes after winning a beauty pageant. "Thankfully everything fell in place."

Priyanka's gift for her Brother

The happiest 17-year old in Mumbai right now is Priyanka's kid brother.

The indulgent star-sister has got the boy the most precious gift of his life.

Laughs Priyanka, "Last week I was on the way to London on a British Airways flight . My brother Siddharth comes to see me off every time I leave Mumbai. On the airport he nearly swooned when he spotted the entire Indian cricket team .

He went ballistic. 'Didi, get them to sign my teeshirt and I'll be your slave for life.' I was embarrassed and horrified. How could I just pull them up to sign my brother's teeshirt? But Siddharth insisted.

Then I wondered which teeshirt he wanted the team to sign since he obviously didn't bring an extra tee-shirt to the airport. To me horror, Siddharth took off the one he was wearing and gave it to me."

On flight , Priyanka hesitantly sent over a message to the team with her brother's request. "I'd have loved to meet them personally and make the request on my brother's behalf. But it was a night flight and I was in the executive class while they were in business.

So I just sent over the request. They happily and graciously agreed. I came out of the flight with every member of the team's signature on my brother's teeshirt."

Priyanka's demeanour lights up. " Now my brother guards that tee-shirt as though his life depends on it. Of course he didn't remember his promise to be my slave for a year. The little brat," chortles Priyanka as she prepares to leave for Dubai to shoot for a song for Love Story 2050 with Harman Baweja.

The year ahead is looking swell for Priyanka. "I'll have four releases this year. Love Story 2050 and Drona will probably come one after the other at year-end. Then I've the comedy God Tussi Great Ho with Salman and Amitji. There's also Big Brother with Sunny.

The release date has been pushed forward. I'm very sentimental about Big Brother because it's with my first hero Sunny Deol. When I first shot with him I was so much in awe I couldn't look in his eyes . I kept my eyes focused on his feet."

Hrithik recommending Priyanka!

Lately we heard Hrithik Roshan is taking personal interest in promoting Priyanka Chopra, which has let us wondering whether it is purely for professional reason or is there more than meets the eye.
The actor, who has always been politically correct, seems to be recommending Priyanka Chopra's name to his friends and colleagues lately. Recently the actor reportedly suggested to Zoya Akhtar that she cast Priyanka Chopra in her forthcoming venture. "It was small role, but an important character in the film. Hrithik was aware of the fact that Kareena is not in taking term with Priyanka since they worked together in 'Aitraaz'. Post 'Krrish', Hrithik Roshan has been recommending Priyanka to filmmakers, may be because he is impressed with her acting," a source says.

SRK and Priyanka at Tag Heuer show

Brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan and the newest "lady" ambassador Priyanka Chopra bared their wrists to don limited editions of Tag Heuer.

An hour later Saturday evening in Mumbai both ambassadors got the audience begging for more when they gave Rohit Bal's fall collection- Koyla - its show stopper.

At the Taj Land Ends they gave away mementos to the evening's guests Dhanraj Pillay for his contribution to Indian hockey.

Javed Akhtar and wife Shabana Azmi were honoured for excellence in cinema.

Akhtar recited a few lines on his interpretation of time.

Apparently Kangana spoke too much about Aamir Khan's next, Ghajini. So she's out. Priyanka is in now (No doubt she'll keep her mouth shut)

Apparently, Aamir Khan has dropped Kangana from his forthcoming venture, Ghajini, to be directed by AR Murugadoss, and Priyanka Chopra has stepped into the actress's shoes. After working with Salman Khan and Shah Rukh, now Priyanka will be seen with Aamir Khan. According to our source, "Priyanka Chopra was spotted at Aamir Khan's office. It seems she had fixed an appointment with the actor with the aim of persuading him to cast her in his film opposite him."

Incidentally, Aamir Khan is very disappointed with Kangana as she has been talking about the project openly. "Aamir wants everyone in the unit to be tight-lipped about the project. Kangana was very excited about the project and she just couldn't believe that she was actually doing a film with Aamir Khan. In her excitement, she failed to judge Aamir's irritation at her behaviour. Aamir replaced her with Priyanka," says our source.

Priyanka, of course, in her turn, tried her level best to impress Aamir. "Priyanka met Aamir Khan for the female protagonist's role in his forthcoming venture. Aamir has seen her work and he was also keen on casting Priyanka for the role. It seems that Kangana has been informed about the change in plans," says our source.

The grapevine has it that Ashutosh Gowarikar was the one who recommended Priyanka to Aamir Khan after he saw her performance in Krrish and Don. "Priyanka was so keen on doing this project that she has agreed to opt out from a couple of mainstream projects, just to get dates free for Aamir Khan. Unlike Kangana, she is not talking about the project, she obviously knows what works best for her," says our source.

When contacted, Kangana said, masking her disappointment, "I am happy with the director's decision regarding the casting of Aamir's film.
