| John Abraham has just returned from the Toronto Film Festival and the talented youngster is radiating with happiness. "WATER was very well received by the international media and dignitaries. The distribution rights of the film have been lapped up by Fox Searchlight, who plan to give it an American release next Spring," he informs me. Reportedly, the august gathering that watched the film -- the predominantly Canadian audience -- couldn't stop praising Deepa Mehta's latest endeavor. "The film has worked in a big way. They [the viewers and media] haven't really focused on any one aspect of the film, but in totality. It's a kind of film that holds Oscar potential, we're told," John feels elated. What has also reached our ears is that John has found an opening in the West. If sources are to be believed, a leading Canadian agent has approached John to look after his career interests in Hollywood. True? "There's no point talking about anything till WATER releases. We're so used to making false proclamations about stepping into Hollywood, when the fact remains that we're nowhere close to that. The positive thing that came out of it was that they liked my performance in the film and felt that my looks could fit into any kind of cinema," John states with utmost modesty.
