Iske baare mein bhool gayi thi...

Actually at different points different aspects come up.

So that school incident is one.

Ritesh ( just assume he is the dad atp ) was okay to lie and take the child out of school on the day of a test just to let her have fun.

Indu on the other hand wants her to dutifully go to school and do what she has gone to school for.

So this situation I have faced too. My hubby has somewhat Rits pov and I have Indu's in this scenario.

Okay, agreed 1st std is not so crucial and missing a test or some classes is not such a big deal. But its the lesson of evaluation and priority here thats important. You are missing school to have a fun time. Which is not a correct lesson according to me. If you really have an emergency or something like you need to go for some eye checkup and there is no early appt at a convenient time, then we can skip school for that day and go for the appt.

If Rits had used the fun trip to actually tell her that her resorting to acts of violence in school was not correct, then I would have given him some points.

So my husband has suggested that my son skip school and they go to attend cricket match at whichever location. Okay he is not really serious when he suggests this I know but that is enough to start our fight 🤣 But if everytime such events are always happening on school days, then I guess once missing school chalta hai after explaining to the kid the reason😊

Then in the Lonavala trip, again I am Indu and my hubby is Rits ( sometimes )... I too bribe my kids sometimes to get them to do things 😛... bcz its tiring to be strict always and get things done by shouting. And its mostly always mommies who have to get things done. Daddies can usually stand far and give comments 🤔. But there are exceptions.

And I have to say, Zoon is quite a fuss free child. Not like some other children who can be difficult 😆.

So parenting is difficult and definitely all parents make mistakes, some unknowingly, some knowingly.

About gadgets, especially the phone. We have reached a stage where this device is indispensable. Even if we want to keep kids away from these, all communication and notification from teachers, school comes this way. And since the world is moving towards less paper usage, there is no way back. If we want kids to read some book, its more easily available as an eBook rather than a traditional book. This is the biggest challenge for parents of this generation who themselves are not in favour of gadget use. And this causes more push-pull in such families. The whole thing is about balance. So as parents, we ourselves first need to understand how much is unavoidable and allow the kids that much but also teach them that they need to learn to control and not start living their life in the e-world. The two years of Covid actually has made things tougher 🥲

Honestly, this generation of parents have become even more busy post-pandemic, and are trying to balance out their personal and professional lives using technology. So kids these days are learning to spend more time communicating/interacting on gadgets than play in person. Takes away some of the innocence of childhood in my view.
