'I was nearly assaulted by Dolly Bindra'

Samir Soni was evicted from Bigg Boss [ Images ] 4 after an argument with housemate Dolly Bindra. The actor seems to be deeply disturbed by his out of turn ouster, and it showed in this interview with Rajul Hegde.

Do you think Bigg Boss has been too strict with you?

Absolutely! I am hugely disappointed by Bigg Boss' decision. I am extremely hurt and feel cheated at being evicted. I still haven't got a satisfactory answer from the housemates about why I was evicted.

What exactly went wrong between you and Dolly Bindra?

I don't know how much of it was shown on TV. I was nearly assaulted by Dolly after I confronted her over her vulgar remarks towards Shweta (Tiwari). I didn't think it was wrong to stand up for a woman's dignity. I was shocked that none of the housemates moved an inch to when Dolly started abusing Shweta.

You looked upset with the Great Khali too.

Yes. I had great respect for Khali but I felt letdown when he pushed me to one side when I was trying to defend Shweta. I can't be a silent spectator like him. I had taken a stand for other housemates earlier too.

What was the most shocking thing about Bigg Boss?

Dolly! Everything was fine until she entered the house. She used foul language, brainwashed everyone, and there were more fights.

The most shocking thing was when Dolly started abusing Shweta and calling her a prostitute. I couldn't stand silently like the others so I intervened. It's a fight of ethics and morals. I will not back down from my stand.

A scene from Bigg BossYou were quiet earlier but slowly, you started cribbing behind everyone's backs. Why didn't you tell off people on the face like Dolly did?

If I felt something was wrong, I would discuss it with someone whom I was comfortable with, not with everyone. If you call that bitching or cribbing, I can't help it. I am from a different background; I can't stoop to Dolly's level by making a noise and using obscene words on national television.

Given a chance, would you like to go back to the house?

Yes. But only on the condition that Dolly wouldn't be in it.

What made you take part in the show?

I was offered this show earlier as well. But somehow I couldn't take it up then.

When I got the offer this year, I thought it would be a good platform to test my character. I wanted people to judge me the way I am. The experience has taught me that I am a decent guy. I stayed long enough to realise there were no friends in there. I don't know what people saw on television. But I conducted myself with dignity and did not embarrass my family and friends.

Is Bigg Boss scripted?

I don't think so. I was not briefed on anything before I entered the house. How can the fights be scripted?

Do you regret that you missed out on spending time with Pamela Anderson ?

Not really. I didn't have any major attraction for her. But yes, it would have been nice to interact with her and get to know her as a person and her thoughts about our country.

Bigg Boss 4 rip off: Dolly Bindra and Sameer Soni come to blows

Salman Khan is hardly an element these days to press the TRP button on the show. Bigg Boss 4 is already grabbing eyeballs coz of the content it is filled with.

The show that kicked off a few weeks back is getting moulded in one controversy after another. After the marriage between Sara Khan and Ali Merchant (which some alleged to be farce), the show is not giving any breather to catfights and spats.

In the last episode, a huge tiff off was seen as Dolly Bindra locked horns with Shweta Tiwari. They swore at each other and were so vehement that Sameer Soni had to come to Shweta's rescue. What followed was disastrous.

Sparks flew to such an extent that the Colors channel had to cease its broadcast. They were only moments away from literally slapping or punching each other. Even Khali, who is otherwise quiet, had to interfere to push Sameer off.

Bigg Boss finally let the other inmates decide whether Sameer and Dolly be sacked or allowed one more chance. Even though, the others were vehement towards Dolly, she was spared the axe. The day however concluded on a positive note as the entry of Pamela Anderson gave all a pleasant surprise. It is to be seen how things shape up in the following days.

I said no to massages: Sameer Soni

All's well that ends well... holds true for actorSameer Soni who was earlier evicted from the "Bigg Boss" house for provoking co-participantDolly Bindra (who abused Shweta Tiwari) to get aggressive.

For, the actor, who stood his ground, has been asked to stay back and will re-enter the house on Saturday. Here's Sameer's litany of woes before his eviction was called off.

'Bigg Boss' is responsible for chaos : "I'm still recovering from what led to my eviction. Frankly, I don't have any issue with any participant but "Bigg Boss". How could have I been put in the same league as Dolly Bindra in terms of guilt. Ideally, the choice should have been between the two of us. Why should I be held responsible? The show makers encouraged Dolly's brazen behaviour, brining it to the level of physical assault (Khali had pushed Sameer away from Dolly). My security was in danger. Had I hit Dolly, the entire issue would have taken a different dimension."

Who is Dolly?: "It is pitiful to have people talk about Dolly with so much interest. It is obvious that the viewers enjoyed her antics, helping her stay for weeks in the show. This gives an insight into our society's thought process and I feel sorry for that. Not every contestant knew who she was. And Khaliji, being what he is, asked Dolly, 'Aap kaun ho?' when she entered the house. nobody believed her when she said she has 180 films to her credit! How come we never watched any? I was never approached by her or her event management company to attend any event, which she claims! I don't remember seeing her in any of the parties in Mumbai. Rather I have been lucky to not hang around in those parties. Even if she passed any personal comment, i made sure i never reacted to it. For, it would be foolish for anyone to trust her."

Why Pamela?: "I would be lying if i said I wasn't shocked to see Pamela Anderson as the guest. The two of us did get talking about life in Los Angeles – where she stays and i studied. when you are away from family for over 40 days the last thing you would think about is Pamela's "Baywatch" image. But she is a nice woman. However, her entry made the entire issue – my eviction – look so trivial. I mean, I couldn't believe that I was physically assaulted on the show and the inmates were celebrating Pamela's entry. The attention was visibly diverted."

Veena didn't seduce me : "'i'm booked' was what I announced on the very first day. and i would give a strict no to head massage on the show."

It's been 12 years since i met Rahul Roy: "Yes, the thought of winning the competition did cross my mind and that's when i felt Rajlaxmi (Sameer's first wife, now married to Rahul Roy) would be happy to see me win and say, 'look who I was with'. According to me, Rahul won the show earlier because the format wasn't as difficult. Contestants, who weren't that big a hit with the viewers, would get eliminated easily. That's not the case now!"
