I think calling her firangi or gori is offensive and probably border line racist. If this was UK big brother, and someone referred to an Indian contestant as "the Indian" or "darkie/brownie".... it would definitely be considered racist, not to mention it would create alot of hoo haa everywhere.
But when it comes to foreigners in India, it seems perfectly acceptable to refer to them in such manner, talk about hypocrisy and double standards!
Sorry, but this reminded me of a famous dialogue from the classic Golmal with Amol "lakshman prasad dashrath prasad sharma alias lucky" Palekar and the fantastic Utpal dutt which goes like this
'Jaise andhe ko andha nahi kehna chahiye, langde ko langda nahi kehna chahiye... waise hi buddhe ko buddha nahi kehna chahiye...usse, uske man ko thes pahunchti hai'
to which i may be tempted to add "firangi ko firangi, gori ko gori..."
