'It was all masti-mazak'
Comment on the strong emotional connection that was visible on the reality show between Monica and Rahul and she quickly tries to dispel all such thoughts. "People misunderstood our camaraderie for a romantic connect. When Rahul was made to act like Lord Krishna, he was told to be little naughty and playful. And getting into the right mood, he just fooled around and we all had a lot of fun. There was nothing more to that," she insists. While Monica easily brushes these speculations aside, Rahul's girlfriend Payal Rohatgi was visibly upset with the special chemistry existing between the two. Refusing to be drawn into a controversy, Monica clears her stand thus: "Rahul is a good guy, but we are poles apart. In fact, we have not even exchanged our phone numbers because romance is the last thing on my mind right now."She says that after her eviction, she was saddened by the fact that she couldn't stay long enough in the show to portray her real image in front of the people.
'Abu Salem said sorry'
And is she flattered by the reports that Abu Salem had requested for a television set in the Mumbai jail, so that he could see Monica in the reality show? To this, the lady says, "I think this piece of news is completely a figment of someone's imagination. Abu and I haven't spoken for years now. We had drifted apart emotionally much before our arrest in September 2002. Earlier, I had even tried to run away from him so many times, but he told me that he needed time before he could let me walk out of his life. It's ironical and sad that even today people refer to me as Abu Salem's former girlfriend. Let me clarify yet again that
I know nothing about his so-called bad deeds.
