These former Bigg Boss contestants are all set to tie the knot in London
Lovebirds Ashmit Patel, 40, and Maheck Chahal, 38, who met each other 14 years back, are all set to get married in August or September this year. The couple got engaged in August last year after around three years of dating each other.
Ashmit and Maheck, who also participated in a TV show Power Couple together, recently confirmed to Pinkvilla during an event that they will tie the knot after getting their apartment renovated in a couple of months. "Maybe in August or September," Ashmit told the portal.
"We just recently got engaged. We have an apartment that we are renovating at this moment. It will take another four-five months, you know half of the year," Maheck said.
Ashmit and Maheck, who have both participated in Bigg Boss in the past--in different seasons--started dating a few months before they participated in Sony TV show Power Couple in 2015. Their bond grew stronger on the show and the two decided to take it to another level. Both Ashmit and Maheck have been linked to Bigg Boss housemates Veena Malik and Gautam Gulati respectively in the past.
When Ashmit decided to propose to his ladylove in Spain last year, it was supposed to be quite dramatic, but turned out into an "unplanned comedy of errors" after Maheck decided to skip dessert that day, and thus the ring that was hidden in the dessert bowl had to be unravelled by Ashmit. In fact, in all the confusion, he forgot to ask her to marry.
"I took her to a Belgian caf. On the pretext of going to the washroom, I had a little chat with the waiter, who brought the ring in a bowl turned upside down on a plate of strawberries. Surprisingly, instead of the dessert, Maheck wanted to go down to the pier. She pushed the plate towards me. I finally, lifted the bowl off to reveal the ring and went down on one knee. In all the confusion, I forgot to ask her to marry me," Ashmit told Mumbai Mirror.
