She chose to play the victim card in the initial weeks, and later became a maternal figure of sorts as few of them in the house started addressing her as "Shilma. And this is when her journey changed as the new Shilpa spent most of her time in the kitchen making rotis for her co-contestants. The viewers were now connected with her on an emotional level. Her fan following kept increasing with every roti that she made in that house.
