I'm seeing a lot of discussion on how thankless people are to the person who cooks for you!

Was it a rule? Was it forced on you? Why were you so upset when people took over kitchen?

If you are doing out of your own will, then don't expect praises! No one has asked you, stop it for a day or two, everyone can cook some rubbish and fill their stomach. Its no rocket science.

Do something without expectations or else please don't do it!

And never ever make a mistake of cooking for everyone leaving one person, shows how low you can get !

Washroom duties or cleaning duties are not mandatory duties to be done everyday but cooking and cleaning utensils is. But yes I agree if someone is doing it voluntarily then they should not expect any appreciation for it.

But duties are duties right. And just like cooking is done everyday, cleaning is done everyday in households. It is no less a job. It ain't essential, but does that mean being a person who does this essential chore becomes a greater person?
Judging a contestant and ranking them on the basis of their duties is very unfair.
Some people know how to cook, some people don't. Some people love to cook, some people don't.
It ain't some contribution to the game which should be celebrated heavily.

In general on this topic----.
Also definitely a person shouldn't be looked down upon kyunki he/she isn't great at this job or refuses to do this job instead of others.
As far as general understanding about this game goes, knowing how to cook wasn't considered a prerequisite and an essential quality, which would put you at advantage because people will again feel ki see why this person only does this job, why can't other people take this job, oh poor cooking HM!

The below portion of this post is in general, not as a reply to your point @kaushikbasu.
