Vikas was decent from an intellectual standpoint, but he wasn't exactly all that likeable in this manner. He goes with the use and throw method. He's one dimensional. He doesn't seem to play from his heart. I prefer people who play with the hearts and use their brains consecutively.Also it's pretty easy to manipulate when you have done your research, and know half of the contestants. This isn't going to get him support in the long-run, and to top it off, he runs with the tails between his legs via exiting through BB door like a nautanki loser. For all of the undeserved hype Vikas got yesterday, he sure was damn underwhelming. I mean the nonsense comment of him putting top tier masterminds like Manu and Amar to shame was over the top, and something of which even got me rattled and I'm those calm headed types.
Re this task - faced with an empty safe he had few options open - had he done nothing, his team would've lost anyway. He dealt a blow to the other team by rejecting thier cushions, and then attempted to balance it by attempting to negotiate with Shilpa, who refused. At that point, the LB was pretty much lost. Not to mention, most of them were playing individually for captaincy chances and only recalled the LB towards the end of the task. Vikas too was playing for captaincy, but secretly for obvious reasons. Even so, he dropped a ton of hints - going so far as to say that he can't tell them the reason but he needs to end up with more money than Shilpa. And none of them picked on it, to their own detriment. I don't see any using and throwing. And secret tasks always come attached with benefits - I think it's silly to begrudge any HM that.
While I didn't compare Vikas to gamers of previous seasons, I did appreciate his game play yesterday. And I stand by that - the way he bounced back from the initial set-back was smart. And from this crop of contestants - I do think he's the smartest, followed by Bandgi. As for the praise doled to Vikas rattling you - well, each to their own I'd say.
