First show that I watched was Indian idol several years back. There a good singer karyuna did not win while sandeep came first. During those days people thought that show was not seen in south india so he did not get votes while sandeep won on regionalism.
I think this is a factor. So I just want to see whats the trend these days. Are people supporting contestants based on regionalism.
If someone thinks their place of origin is private then no need to tell.
Then what you need to find is..what section votes?
And voting is driven by two factors:
1. Money to waste
2.Strong need for achievement and individuality
Money to waste leads you to teenagers ( higher secondary, college) or women (house wives) as a majority pool - women aspect would lead you primarily to punjab ( rich women even in villages..by rich i mean they can afford to spend on their whims and facies), gujarat, south India - I owudl say more from Tamil Nadu and probably Andhra pradesh.
Strong need leads you to lower strata of the society or regions that have been yearning for recognition- North East India, Bengal, J&K
And hence most of your winners are from these states only.
third and the last criteria in winning this is...your screen presence and strength of competition...
Now that happens rarely that someone wins on this criteria..where you appeal to many and there is lack of good comeptition 😃
