There is no way in hell I'm gonna eat rice, daal and all the gravy and what not with my hands. That would totally gross me out. I've never seen anyone in my family do it. I've only seen it on tv and movies.

@ Yankees= It IS a personal preference. And many Indians prefer to use their hands to eat rice and curry. That said, I have NEVER seen anyone eat with their hands in as uncouth a manner as Naagman. I'm a Punju too like you but I was very young when I started learning BharatNatyam so I was taught to eat rice properly-rice should not get smeared on the back of your fingers and never above the tips of your fingers-obviating the need to slurp or lick your fingers clean in the gross way that Naagman does.

Dex... I haven't seen it either. I was taken back when I went to my BFF's (btw, she Muslim) house when I was like 10 and saw her entire family eat with their hands. I lost my appetite. Over time, I came to accept it but still I dont think i'd personally do it.

But usually I prefer eating rice and curry with a spoon..not a fork...only exception would be Biryani, in which case, I use my hands...its more yummy that way😆
