Dex... I haven't seen it either. I was taken back when I went to my BFF's (btw, she Muslim) house when I was like 10 and saw her entire family eat with their hands. I lost my appetite. Over time, I came to accept it but still I dont think i'd personally do it.

I'm a Punju too like you but I was very young when I started learning BharatNatyam so I was taught to eat rice properly-rice should not get smeared on the back of your fingers and never above the tips of your fingers-obviating the need to slurp or lick your fingers clean in the gross way that Naagman does.

He makes it seem all messy. 😆 He's the one who prompted me to open this topic.

If its a Roti, then obviously I use my hands😆
But usually I prefer eating rice and curry with a spoon..not a fork...only exception would be Biryani, in which case, I use my hands...its more yummy that way😆

Yea I don't know know how people do it either. Oh well. To each his own. Whatever one's comfortable with. I know I just wouldn't be.

Roti/naan is different though... that's like pizza.. Though I sometime use a knife and fork to eat pizza. 😳😆 Rice/briyani is something I can't eat with my hands.

I also do not understand how people in USA wipe their ass using a paper held in hand..
Never knew people can do it without hand shower.. Well it is the scale of development after all.. So cool.

.. 😆😆 you amuse me.

Personally I wouldn't bash the US on that front, at least each household has a toilet and running water. Instead finding stuff wrong with the US in every post of yours, how about you sort out your matters first.

India

  • with 626 million people who practice open defecation, has more than twice the number of the next 18 countries combined;
  • accounts for 90 per cent of the 692 million people in South Asia who practice open defecation;
  • accounts for 59 per cent of the 1.1 billion people in the world who practice open defecation;
  • has 97 million people without access to improved sources of drinking water, second only to China.
