Good you asked me about how BiggBoss is unbiased, I've always wanted to clarify it for people who only tune in to the show to follow their fav celebrity.
First, thank you so much for a long explanation and for taking from your time to explain few things to a perfect stranger. Truly appreciate that. Read everything carefully. Trying to reply yesterday but my old, rotten PC crashed on me, eat all my long reply😕.
Hence, here I am today 😃
First let us understand the huge odds BB team works against - There are 80+ cameras in BiggBoss and they have footage of 24 hours. Do the maths - 24x84 = 2016. The editing has 2016 hours of footage to go through every day and then sift out one hour episode - that is roughly 45 minutes out of 120960 minutes of footage.
That is exactly the reason why I do not believe that I as a viewer, am able to see real faces of contestants. I just see what and how editing team of BB chose to portray them. Because if out of 120960 minutes of footage they chose to show 45 minutes, in that 45 minutes will be things that will increase TRP(I guess we will both agree that TRP become main target for most PHs/Chanels this days), i.e. fights, gossiping, bitching, quarreling. And Editing team will chose how to portray each contestant, by choosing what segments out of his daily schedule they take out of this 120960 minutes a day. They even take away from us possibility to get to know them through LF(it would be normal that LF goes LIVE), because since we know that even that is recorded, edited, most of the time muted and buffered, so what is a joy in watching that. So BB team covered their asses pretty well. 😆😆😆
See the issue about a show like BiggBoss is that the contestants do not know what is being shown on the episode - so they have to behave as though every little act of theirs is being scrutinized and commented upon. Most people are in awe of the cameras for first week or so and afterwards they forget about it and become their natural selves.
Now no one knows what is being shown, but all can be certain that what is shown will be a part of an incident or an interaction that has actually occurred. Those who have been evicted on disciplinary issues may not realize how far they've taken things in the heat of the moment. When they see the footage they get a chance to objectively see their own behavior, they do not need to see the footage to evaluate other people in the house, because they are already living with them, so they know what other housemates are like.
So, as you say, the people who are living in the house know the best how the other people in the house are, so let me quote Asif, who said after coming out from house:"The people inside the house are behaving differently than they would if they were outside, may be because of the stress. Relations don't matter if the person is totally changed. They are doing anything to play the game."
During the Samir Soni - Dolly Bindra spat both were shown footage of the actual beamed episode and both felt ashamed of their behavior - yes, even Sameer Soni, who admitted that he did not react in the right way and took things too far leading to a crisis. Both of them apologized to the show and the public for their behavior.
When I say BiggBoss is not partisan and plays fair - it differs in that respect from other countries. In India people are given a second chance to redeem themselves. They are allowed to come back to the show and make amends and show their positive side to the public - esp. if they've been avicted on disciplinary grounds.
So far in the history of the show no candidate has been treated unfairly. There was an episode where Pravesh Rana got so frustrated that he destroyed all the food in the house by dumping it all (including flour, oil, vegetables et al) in the swimming pool. BiggBoss reacted by showing a footage of people who suffer due to malnutrition and starvation and then food from caterers was sent inside for everybody.
When people react violently and in an extreme fashion then it is an indication that they've lost their mental equilibrium and sense of perspective - BiggBoss therefore gives them a time-out opportunity to regain their sense of perspective and return.
It is good to know that in BB in India people are getting a second chance. That is good, I always believed in second chances. Hope Kushal get one too.
I would also like to underline only one point - this show is NOT scripted - the way people behave or react is their own normal behavior and reaction - if it does not gel with your personal image of the star - too bad - but it is a fact that the show is not scripted. Also none of the evictions are rigged or manipulated - only people to get evicted are those who did not gather enough votes. The entire process is strictly monitored and audited. People have actually gone to court to prove that evictions were manipulated but couldn't prove anything.
Now, I would like to say that I do not think like you, regarding this last part of your post. I think the show is scripted and staged, not in a sense that people are getting a piece of paper where it is written what they have to say, but in the sense that BB through different games and tasks creates such an environment in which people show the side of their personalities that I believe, even they themselves, were not aware they possess. Than with clever editing BB team make whatever they want out of any contestants.
As for voting, I hope you are right, because that would mean that Prats will go out, since nobody of her fans vote for her, since we want her out off that place. But I still think it is rigid and that evictions have nothing to do with voting, but everything to do with whom BB want to keep in their house. That is my POV
As for bold, I have no problem with an image BB trying to glue on Prats, because I know who she is and what kind of girl she is.😊 I like the way she is behaving in BB house👏.
I do not think she is doing anything different, from that what all other contestants are doing there. 😉😆
She is doing the best she can in a controlled and cruel environment.👏👏👏
She will always have my love and support, and all of her true fans think the same. 😃
