I really can't imagine Elli fighting back without being able to properly understand or speak hindi. I am not an indian. But i'd watched a ton of indian movies n series, hence i understand their dialogues well. I'v been to india many times yet, regarding this case; when BiggBoss talks or Salman uses different words that i usually dont hear in movies or in series i get confused. So i get how a foreigner could find it hard when talked in proper hindi or in indirect ways. to respond to it in hindi is even more difficult. I find it hard to speak than I understand it.
Anyways, my point is I don't think Elli could defend herself verbally cos the moment she opens her mouth, a lengthy hindi rant will start against her which she'll probably get only 20% or less given their speed n more additional bonus from other contestants. *thinking about BB housemate fights n their volume*
Also if its not in Elli's nature to get into these fights n arguments she's gonna bow out (with her self respect ) just the way she did. And i certainly don't blame her or see her as a weak woman for doing it in this situation with a gang like that. We could say she was alone without any defense in this situation.
Yea I agree with the fact that she doesn't have that in her nature. But I cannot see how one can bow out and still maintain the self-respect. Any self-respecting person would fight back or at least say something in a firm tone, even if they cannot win the argument in the end. I know Elli cannot win since these other housemates will give her a rant in shudh hindi, but still. Any self-respecting person would TRY to show them that it is not okay to walk all over him/her.
I'd like to see come courage being built into Elli. She has to do it herself or she can't stay much longer in the house. I can't see her fighting nasty, but saying something in a firm tone is not something she can't do. The way she said "Mera naam Elli hai na" showed some fire in her. She could've stood her ground and said something like 'Agli baar mere baare mein baat karni hai, toh mujhse karo." Sure, this would not stop Kamya, prats, or tanisha. But at least she would've done herself some favor and the housemates would have gotten the hint that this girl can talk back. You know?
I don't know. I just can't seem to understand the whole "maintaining self-respect by walking away" deal." I can understand it if you walk away because the issue is so petty to you that you don't even want to be involved. That's fine. But clearly, this issue was not petty to her. She cried! It mattered! So why not say something?
