I just realized that all the winners and audience favorite contestants of BB were never popular inside the house..
1. Imam was an audience favorite but was hated by the HMs.
2. Urvashi was an audience favorite but was not the most popular inside the house. Delnaz n co were liked more by the HMs.
3. Gauhar was an audience favorite but again was disliked by MOST of the HMs. Her only true friend was Kushal rest all were in it for the game. Infact during the finale most of the ex-HMs wanted Tanisha or Sangarm to win.
4. Gautam is the most popular contestant and again is disliked by most of the HMs.
Seeing the trend I believe the difference in the HMs perception and audience perception has to do with a number of factors:
1. All the popular contestants/winners have had a "in ur face" personality. They say it as it is on the face of the contestants and don't sweet-talk on their face and bitch behind their back. This is a quality that the audience appreciats becoz that shows that ur straightforward and not a backstabbing coward. But the HMs obviously don't like this and would rather like someone who praise and support them on their face like Pritam and Upen rather than people like Gautam who criticize them openly. But the viewers can see the double standards of these contestants and hence they are never as popular outside the house.
2. Most of the winners have been self-righteous, dominating people and have had a preachy personality. As a viewer we may like them for this nature but such people are never popular among their peers. It is definitely not easy to live with such people and you need patience and should be able to look past this nature of theirsl to truly like them. Since none of the HMs have a personal bond with each other and are in it for the game no one is going to have the patience to deal with this side of someones personality and look past that to truly like them.
3. Competition, jealousy, game strategy all obviously cloud the judgement of the HMs while the viewer sees it from a more objective POV. For eg. 2 ppl are ok with each other and praise each other as long as they don't have a fight with each other. Once they have a disagreement both these ppl start bitching each other out. As an audience my liking might not change based on 1 fight but for HMs it very well might.
So that's why I think we have a difference in the opinion of the janta vs the HMs.
Its not becoz the HMs can see the "real" nature while the audience is seeing a "fake" nature as people would like to believe. Its becoz the HMs have a very biased, clouded opinion while the viewers can have a more neutral, objective opinion.
