As for the bf Choksi, who knows what the bf is really upto. He might have already moved on. Yesterday in LF, Upen-Pritam were talking. Upen told that for the pst 1 yr her bf was not much into relationship, despite Karishma's best efforts.
And didn't choksi benefit from this fiasco. The entire nation now know him.We'll never really know what kind of agreement would have transpired between UPMA-Choksi. So I believe we should reserve our judgements. At the end of the day, even if it's fake then how does it really affect us. They are anyway getting their share of fame and money and recognition.
In nutshell, when every other inmate is acting in this so-called reality tv show, then why should we mind yet another performance and scrutinize the morality of it.
UPMA angle is not so sudden. It was certainly a progression. Upen always found her beautiful but they had their own set of friends. However, after Diandra's eviction they had to come close and they started bonding. It was very evident in last few day's when Upen accepted he was getting affected by Karishma when he started groing very possessive for her and when Karishma accepted that her relation had not been so strong for the past 1 year with her bf. Also remember how in the last few days, Upen used to ignore Sonali (more than was necessary) and give importance to Karishma (be it choreographing the dance for bipasha or giving out Christmas gifts). It was very evident that he was trying to impress Karishma.
And so it's not a surprise when he would have proposed her (the letter). Even Salman kept teasing Upen on finale day "karishma ko jo bolna tha sab bol diya" , "Baat ho gayi Karishma se" and so on.
However, what's surprising is why he chose to come back. Agreed he could have waited tor a month to take their relation to next level. But there seem to be certain reasons for his re-entering the show and over-doing romance
1.revamping his own image- in his first spell he probably didn't realize that everybody is playing a role and nobody really is fighting. they are all actually acting. After eviction, when he realized this, he probably grew desperate for a second chance. And he certainly made good use of it.
2.Knowing and Proposing karishma - Normally when boy and girl date, they put their best act .. dress nicely, talk nicely ..at best for a couple of hours.But it takes a long time to know the real person. However, in the house of bigg boss, you get to stay together for 24 hrs and see the best as well as the worst side of a person. If he's serious about Karishma, then what better place to be with her then the bigg boss house. He would have already come to know a lot about her in his previous stint and the 2nd stint is only a natural progression
3.Helping Karishma win - Owing to Gautam's popularity, it was evident that Karishma's chances are not bright. Hence, the situation demanded bringing her in limelight by hook or crook. Romantic angle invariably brings a person in headlines, for good or bad. I believe, Upen is a very smart person, someone who doesn't forgive easily. And it must be his deepest desire to seek his ultimate revenge against Gautam/Pritam/Ali by helping out his only friend in the house, karishma win.
4.Bigg boss's money - 10 lakhs a week is not a bad amount for a 2nd spell in the house
5.Strong attraction - Can't rule out the strong infatuation/attraction he might have felt for Karishma once he was evicted
There might be other reasons. But we shouldn't forget that they are all playing a role inside.

2.Gautam-The lone wolf ...in Kapil sharma's wrds he's alreadys selected so he could stop auditioning now
3.Pritam-The jolly good fellow
4.Tanna-The starmaker with a caustic tongue

6.Upen Patel- the lover boy
and that's what is keeping them inside. As long as u play your role, you stay relevant.
Probably, sonali was the only person who couldn't figure out a role for herself and still managed to survive for 105 days.
So, in nutshell, I feel Upen-Karishma might have some feelings for each other and at the same time they are not shy of exploiting the situation for their benefit. After all everything is fair in love and war
