Puneet would actually give Gautam advice on how to act and Gautam himself would come to Puneet asking how to act. Gautam followed many of Puneet's words (there were times he did not and made his own decisions).

With Sambhavna, on the other hand, she gives Gautam advice on how to act, but he never really goes to her to ask how he should act or whatever.

Honestly though, every HM gets advice from people on how to act (they even give each other advice on how to act LOL) and similarly go to their friends for validation on the way they acted.

The only time I actually saw a guru-student relationship, was HEAVILY during P3G. Praneet, Pritam, and Gautam literally listened to everything Puneet had to say. It was crazy. After P3G broke, Gautam kind of maintained the student-guru relationship, but it also started evolving into more of a friendship I think. Gautam didn't hesitate, especially in the later stages of the game, to punish Puneet or let him know that he didn't agree (although it was rare, it did happen).
