Cmon! Jharkand becoming its own state was a big deal for India. Not knowing it is not acceptable. If you think that's acceptable then even Tanna's answers and Alia's on KWK must also be considered acceptable.

So you can't name the languages after saying that 'everyone should know everything about this country...basic facts'. They are basic facts even though they are not current affairs, which you keep emphasizing on...but that doesn't take their importance away.

I rest my case. Thanks!

Not knowing something is simply ignorance or forgetfulness, depending on whether he knew it before or not.

Being intelligent and being knowledgeable are completely different traits. There are a lot of people who are extremely knowledgeable but also extremely dumb and also the other way round.

I haven't seen the live feed and by watching the episodes I haven't had an impression that Praneet is particularly intelligent. But his not knowing some fact (no matter how trivial it is) has nothing to with someone's intelligence. He may be dumb but not knowing Jharkhand's capital has nothing to do with it.

Well...u could be dumb for a variety of reasons..dumb also means lack of intelligence...and if u fare poor in General knowledge related questions... Then u r kind of dumb or not intelligent per se...haven't u heard the saying IGNORANCE IS NOT AN EXCUSE...so in this case..not knowing the capital of Jharkand makes him dumb or non intelligent in general knowledge related stuff..

So becoz he is intelligent that means he is suppose to know everything

What nonsense? I have lot of knowledge in mythology, universal laws but I m zero knowledge about politics. So ur going to bash me for it. On the contrary u should be appreciating for what I know. We are all humans, there is not a single person in world who knows everything becoz there is always something more to learn in life.

This reason is stupid reason to bash.

You rest your case? You cannot rest a case in the middle of a discussion. Makes no sense. This is still a moot point.
Where did I say that everyone should know all the facts.? All I said was everyone should know events that are highly publicized in the newspapers that too ones that happen in his adult lifetime. Especially someone who pretends to be erudite should. Read again.

Basic facts are as important as current affairs. But basic facts are plenty and almost infinite whereas current affairs of a particular time is fewer and easier to be aware of.

And I repeat that I'm not someone knowledgeable at all, compared to most people I know. Not even close! But even I knew that! So that's saying a lot about Praneet! Also I never give people gyan about India's space program and pretend to be knowledgeable so even I don't know things its alright. I'm not proud of my ignorance but I don't cover it up and pretend like Praneet.

I never said I was super smart and know everything about everything. All I said was Praneet knows very little about most things yet he is all big talk.

Since he hasn't yet showed us his knowledge on anything as yet, we will continue to judge him on what he's showed us. The day he proves to have boundless knowledge about anything then we'll appreciate him for it.

Why should we appreciate him for a side he hasn't showed us yet? are we supposed to imagine it and appreciate his hypothetical intelligence or knowledge in any particular field?

We judge what we see as viewer be it the episode or LF. And we have every right to judge him if he seems not well informed.

Next time please ask Salman to ask him questions about a field that he knows the answers to so that we all can unanimously appreciate him.

As you said, you haven't appreciated either his intelligence or knowledge.
Now,how does that make anyone pseudo-intelligent?

If he is knowledgable about mangalyaan, he has that knowledge because of his interest in that field.

One may be very knowledgable about one field, which interests him and may have no knowledge in other.
That doesn't make anyone less intelligent.

His inability to name the capital of a state, may be because he couldn't recall it at that moment.
That happens so many times during the exams. When a person is under pressure , he is bound to have selective amnesia.
Not knowing something which happened years back may also be because it was not of relevance to him.

As mentioned before, there are lot of other things that have been in public eye,

How many on the forum can name the political mentor of India's prime minister ?
What is the capital of newly formed Andhra?

Even a homely woman taking care of her family be more intelligent than her husband who is more educated than her.Intellgence and being knowledgeable about a subject are completely different things.

If Praneet gives "gyaan" that is because he has given more importance to developing his moral fibre and was also a part of a show, the subject of which was epitome of moral values.Hence his knowledge in that regard, makes sense.

On the other hand,I haven't found a thing which could make me question his intelligence.

If you have no good reason to appreciate him, you have none to call him anything less, too
hence,your topic loses relevance.

@ bold
I have corrected myself in an another post and called him pseudo erudite instead. Please read entirely before commenting. It infact makes your post irrelevant.

Again I'm not going to appreciate him on his hypothetical/imagined intelligence. If next time the questions are what suit his knowledge and he answers correctly then good for him, we can appreciate him then. 👏
But sadly today was just not that day. 😭
I am instead going to judge him on the lack of his knowledge which was broadcast on primetime TV today. It's not my fault that BB chose to air that on TV today instead of his boundless knowledge and moral fibre. He may have selective amnesia or not, I dont care. It's not my job to imagine reasons and excuses to justify his failure to answer a question.

Again a housewife may be more intelligent but if she answers a question wrong on primetime TV people will judge her. Look at youtube for many such viral videos. Just look at Alia Bhatt who is just an actress but she was made fun of for a similar thing on KWK.

About your intelligence vs knowledge comment read my other posts before ranting on. Very irrelevant since I have already corrected myself.

Who cares if the people on this forum know about Modi's political mentor(he has more than one Advaniji, Atalji,Inamdar or more recently his wingman Mr. Shah) or Vijayawada. The people on this forum aren't on TV for us to judge.

But Praneet is! So we can talk about him and we will. Lately I have no reason to appreciate him but today I found a reason to disparage him so I will. 😉

Read all the posts before saying something otherwise your post loses relevance. 😆

That seems to be the popular logic among Praneet's supporters. Some of them are like I didn't know and I consider myself intelligent and knowledgeable so if Praneet doesn't know he must also be the same. 😉
The rest are asking random GK questions to prove me as dumb as Praneet. It's not like he was asked a really hard question. Cmon! Everyone acting like it's such a toughie is quite amusing! 😆😆

That's why I have just been saying that yes yes I'm dumb because I can't answer all your 'super hard' questions. But sadly Praneet is less knowledgeable than me and that too on TV. That's why I'm laughing at him!
