The whole point of the rule is ppl dont do the mistake of leaving thier stuff anywhere they wish carelessly.. Specially in the bathroom.
It is as simple as that.
And arya didnt remember he had left it there n didn bother until he needed it.

he is acting like a bully , same weird shit he was doing in other episode inside/outside toilet ... something is seriously wrong with him.

And to you first point...the point of the rule is not that. The rule is there so that people know where to look for a missing item if they had left something around the house. Most of the things don't carry names, unlike mugs which can be easily identified! But Baba Goti the samaaj sudhaarak...needs to just teach a lesson to ppl he doesn't like.😆

your still not getting the point.
Lets assume, since the mug has the name, gautam saw it instead of putting it in the lost n found, he informed arya and arya happily took it from there. But next time he will do the same mistake knowing someone will inform him if he leaves it here n there carelessly.
So the point here is they learn from thier mistake, and think twice before leaving it carelessly.
And anyway it wasnt jus gautam's rule, the whole housemates mutually decided it.
