Puneet has a past of lying, betraying, appeasing everyone etc. However, after he was reprimanded wrongly1, he seems to have improved his behavior significantly. Now he is a distinguished and consistent member of the P3GR group, doesn't go to the other group and try to appease them, doesn't spread lies etc. I'm starting to like this new form of him. Perhaps, while he was evicted, he saw some videos of how the "bedroom group" members bashed him.
1. I believe he was admonished wrongly because of the reasons as to why he made use of martial arts to incapacitate Arya. Because Arya was stopping the wheel from the get-go, instead of which he should have been trying to break the building. So Puneet was wrongly provoked and then he supposedly hurt Arya. Well, in that case, how was Arya able to break the door of the confession room? How was he able to participate in the task with utmost enthusiasm and strength the next day? He must have a lot of will power and tolerance, or he's a liar.
