If Arya or Ali are in that situation as Gautam, they would have cried by now.
I think Gautam is not a victim in his mind. We are seeing him as a victim because all are cornering him or isolating him.

If you see, all of them gang up on Gautam. He is very strong personality for all of them. They cannot handle him individually.

so I agree with MaNeBhiPyarKiya, that Gautam is not the victim.
"Hunter is getting hunted", in this case as per precap, Upen is hunter and Gautam is prey. But prey is hunting the hunter. Thats what I noticed in the precap. Ironically prey is no longer a prey but a hero because of its guts.

I did not see fear in Gautam's eyes in the precap.
Now we have to see the episode to confirm this.

Gautam is such an amazing persom, even though sonali ditched him still he supported her yesterday against Ali..
