Take a stand...

...What I mean by that is - why didn't the villains not just pull out the black stand that the flag was seating on and put their flag on it. I understand that they needed the pole too but they could've made a pole with something- the rules does not specify that it has to be on the same pole - also if they took the black stand, then the heroes would be confused and they could've used that to their advantage.
