Not sure what kind of plug in safari uses. Can you install firefox on ipad - I only have android tablets.

Hi @msd21, unfortunately, Firefox and Apple don't get along.

See excerpt:
There is not, and there likely will not be for some time, a Firefox browser for iOS (IPhone, iPad, iPod, iEtc.). Apple will not allow competing platforms (gecko, which powers Firefox) onto their devices. Even the other browsers that are on iOS (like chrome) are only reskinned versions of Safari, and are actually slower than it because Apple wont give access to certain API's needed to speed up Javascript. Unfortunately, on iOS, there is a closed ecosystem that doesn't allow healthy competition among browsers.

On another note, did get a hold of a friends Android tab, installed Hola, updated to India, and went on colors website. However video does not seem to be playable. Any ideas? Missing plugin perhaps? Not sure whats missing.

https://www.india-forums.com/tellybuzz/buzzin-hot/21816-channel-officials-stop-the-streaming-of-live-feed-of-bigg-boss-8.htm

Colors' popular show Bigg Boss 8 has already started making headlines with the links up shown in the episodes. Well the viewers who enjoy watching the entire day's episode through Live Feed, will be saddened as Live Feed streaming will no longer be available to them.

The 24/7 live footage is edited and shown to the audience in one hour. The Live Feed which is aired on the channel Colors' official website will no longer be streamed as the officials from the channel and Viacom 18 Media took the decision of not airing the entire content through the Live Feed instead the channel will upload some video relating to the show on their official Facebook Page.

As many controversies build up due to the Live Feed and are publicized unnecessarily which become the talk of the town, so to avoid such controversies the officials have taken this decision.

Says a source, "BB8 YouTube Live stream will be stopped because of Viacom 18 Media &Colors TV BB8 official website team says this content shouldn't stream worldwide. Sorry about that guys but we'll be uploading Live feed clips on our FB page."

Keep reading the space for more updates.

I think the following is needed for being able to watch LF:

- Indian IP. (The free apps, and proxies do not work, will have to purchase a VPN solution for a legit IP address).
- Browser with capability to play Flash. (Colors isn't using HTML for video, so Apple and Android devices, which are known to have issue with Adobe/Flash, do not work. Ie, plugin or extensions will be needed)

Hence, folks that are on windows platform will have an easier route at getting LF with the proper VPN client. For IOS and Android users, it's a bigger struggle.

Colors channel is making tons of money on viewers internationally, who purchase the channel from cable provider to watch Bigg Boss.

I've been sending tweets to @rajcheerful, who is the channel head. Requesting others to do the same. Maybe like last year, if they keep hearing out our complaints, they will do something.

Do not agree. I have VPN but there is no server in INdia. So a VPN with servers in India may work. I have been watching LF everyday with indian proxy using firefox. Many other members have reported success. So if one can not, they need to ask someone else to help with technical side. One thing to note is that proxies expire and one needs to find a new one that works. Cheers!

This proves what I was saying in my post. Windows clients will have an easier connection option than IOS and Android. Even if we use proxies, Safari and Google have their limitations. A paid VPN solution, which has a VPN into India will work. Same as buying a paid app with a VPN option as India. There's a two fold issue on non-windows devices due to Flash compliance as well.

I said already, see https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/bigg-boss-8/4172240/live-feed-outside-india?pn=3. Even if you have VPN (which is same as using proxy) will not help you if it is flash related issue.

does ipad support firefox?

All browsers on iOS, Firefox, Mozilla, Chrome, are all essentially Safari disguised. Apple has strict no flash rules. The extensions and plugins don't work either, unless you're jail breaking your device. Same goes for android and googles issue with flash.
