How two panic attacks were treated in the house.

Being recently diagnosed with Anxiety Disorder, here are a few things I learned

1. You may seem confident. So much that you yourself don't realize how much strength it takes to fake being confident

2. You do things even when your whole mind and body literally pŕotests against doing it. And that shows, like restless legs, playing with hair, chewing lips, blabbering, and these are the only visible outward signs

3. Inwardly an anxious person keeps thinking, overthinking, palpitations, a sense of disappearing, fear, etc keep manifesting

4. Many anxious people, including me, form bonds and become quite dependent on those around us, a blind loyalty. It's our own doing. Our shortfall. Because we expect way too much in return but can never voice it out. The pressure keeps on building.

5. While we can stew with big things, small things break us.

6. "Unhygienic" conditions are part of depression and anxiety too.

Now we have seen 2 panic attacks in the house.

One panic attack happened a few weeks back when an unwanted life-altering stinking controversy physically walked in the BBH with himanshi. And sana broke down. I have a son who is autistic and keeps having meltdowns. What can experienced was a full-blown meltdown. She was loved, adored, given attention and she saw all that crumbling with himanshis entrance. She had people surrounding her. Aarti, sid, paras, bhau, arhan, and aarti. Everyone was there and pledged their allegiance to her. They didn't even know what the story is. Yet the all stood by her. they didn't know what a meltdown is. They stood by her.

Another meltdown and panic attack happened yesterday. Whatever the reason may be. It did. It may not have been as huge as a stinking controversy but it was huge for the one suffering. The person who suffered has always been anxious. There have bee huge glaring signs.

1. Physical manifestations of anxiety - restless, shaking, jaw movements, rocking the upper body while sitting

2. Not able to articulate her feelings as emotions take over.

3. Dependent on her object if affection to return the feelings.

4. Having too many expectations from people around her

5. A burning need to please those for whom she cares

And she broke down yesterday. The difference this time that her panic attack didn't include pouting lips and tiny pudgy fists rubbing eyes or wailings. And another difference is people not realizing. These showbiz people undermining mental illness. For them, a mental condition is way below their personal equations. The things said by the few people about the panic attacks were offensive. Especially the taunts by someone who has already faced such a breakdown in the house once was bitter.

Now should arti leave? No. She shouldn't. Because it must have taken a huge strength to come here. To survive, to be ignored, pushed away and humiliated, yet to stand by what she thinks is right, takes bravery. I am not her fan, I find ger annoying. Yet I relate to her. And I am aghast that people taunted her panic attack in bbh.

The first victim, who cried for support to each HM was seen unaffected by Arti's meltdown and even advised Shukla to not go to her coz she is not his mausi's ladki. Such an innocent POS she is

one is with full of attention, caring and assurance. kuch bhi ho jaye we are with you. and the other is with rude, go to hell and mocking . kya wo teri masi ki beti hai, kya main babysit karoon?

and the most disgusting thing is case no.1 mocking case no.2 who stand by her side when she was having panic attack🤢

Our topics are similar & overlapped time. Really appreciate you writing this. I seriously felt sick looking at the housemates being so inhuman. They have lost all sense of emotions & humanity and only thinks about the same.

Such people can win a show but in life never will.

Thankyou for writing this and sharing your own experiences of dealing with the same. I have personal experience too and was aghast when people said arti having a crisis of this magnitude as a game plan or acting.

I know Sana is however she is, but she herself has gone through this recently could have shown a little more sympathy and sensitivity rather than sitting on the bed and making fun of Arti. Basic human decency, I would do it for an enemy seeing them in a crisis like that.

I too agree I want Arti to stay longer in the game and I want her to get better and feel stronger, as that’s one of the best things you can do to get okay eventually. If she draws strength from this experience she will be stronger and better in outside BB life too. Best wishes for her!

It was appalling the lack of sympathy they showed, absolutely appalling. Especially from Shukla and Shehnaz.

I don’t think Shehnaz is autistic. Her breakdown was in the form of a tantrum that could be due to a mild ADHD type of disorder or other reasons but whatever the origins, the fact is, housemates felt for her and were disturbed, empathising with her. Arti was there comforting her from the beginning. It’s so awful that Shehnaz behaved the way she did yesterday.

Personally I don’t believe Sana’s reaction to Himanshi was a panic attack, I believe she was overreacting/over-acting. Her reaction to Arti speaks volumes as she would’ve been more sensitive to her.

Even yesterday when Arti was crying ‘mama’ in the corner I thought it was acting, however after her conversation with Shukla, her reaction then I thought was genuine and I thought she needed an inhaler as I wasn’t sure if she’s asthmatic or not, yes panic attacks are not a joke, I’ve experienced this in the past. It’s also a cause of depression which is something she also deals with.

Really Sorry, don’t mean to be rude, but I’m impatient and cannot read such long posts, but panic attacks is a problem in the mind of the person, they are worrying about something which is non existent and not happened at all.

Mindfulness helps overcome the problem and Aarti should have been aware of it.

Please don't spread false information about anxiety disorder and panic attacks.

It is not at all what you say it is.

Thats okay, we cannot expect people to fully understand what anxiety is and how it can actually cripple people. Its hard to describe something which isnt tangibly seen. I hope people were more understanding.
