Sree:
Sree is definitely emotional and can cross lines and in fact has crossed them multiple times. He was like this when he was a cricketer too. I used to really dislike him earlier and the word cry baby was apt. But, he was always a clever player. He knows his strength and weaknesses and he is pretty shrewd.
Dipika:
Dipika on the other hand is also very emotional. She entered as a strong contestant and was performing well. This made everyone target her since day one. She was questioned for every small thing since the beginning in WKW. It's no secret that the TRPs have been low since the beginning, so they wanted some trouble. It didn't matter how, but something was needed.
Their friendship / bond:
The concept this year forced the celebs/singles to stick together. Since they were just 5 or 6 against 12. Sree in the earlier days was very volatile. But, his volatility was causing him lot of emotional turmoil and his BP was an issue too. For whatever reason, Dipika and Sree bonded during this time. But, Sree was always a liability. He would leave tasks and go off at any time. But, they had already started calling each other bro-sis. Not sure who started this relationship. We never saw that. Dipika used to sit with KV too, but never called him that. I feel that during taking care of him, Sree must have started that and she started calling him Bhai and he Didi. (This is my assumption. Looking at how they behave with others). Others didn't like this relation, as everyone wanted to be close to Sree. He is a cricketer and definitely has the highest vote bank. The second person among the contestants was Dipika. (KV, Neha and others were not shining yet). So, a bond between No 1 and 2 was dangerous.
Then Deepak - the BB expert played his best trick - divide and rule. Hence, the powder room incident. I don't know who said what. But, in the glimpse shown by BB, Neha was indeed the one who was saying things against Sree. At that time Sree was a liability and she was just complaining about that. but, Dipika seemed silent there and Neha also mentions that Dipika is getting along well with Sree. (or something to that effect). She said you understand him or something. At this point Neha and Dipika were really close.
Then came the Mid-week eviction. At this point nothing was going according to BB. They wanted a conflict and for once. Dipika had the hardest choice to make there. All were her friends. She chose Sree and that makes complete sense to me, as he was a liability. Her mistake was she tried sweet talking her way out. If she would her given her real reasons or even just said that Neha is more imp would have made things easier. It wasn't like he is going out on their voting and things would have eased up.
Though we didn't see much about their bond then. They were calling each other bro-sis and for Sree he needs to be the first priority for anyone. So, he reacted like BB expected. Like Dipika said - he curses and backbites about people he dislikes. She had apparently committed a crime against him and more importantly against Shristy (lol - he can be such a baby. Always deflect - I cursed at myself, I was angry because they ignored Shristy) He and Anup J started their backbiting. The commoners were all so happy. Their plan had succeeded. All the Emmy winning performances had paid off. But, after a day of planning, plotting, etc. Sree himself couldn't take the extent of ugliness others were dishing out to Dipika. He is shrewd and I think he understood the intentions of everyone. And Dipika is kind and had become docile after the entire house was against her. KV and Shristy were backstabbing as well. Neha had left and everyone had cornered her. Sree started supporting Dipika again.
But, this was a phase when Dipika started feedback about all the backbiting. More than the HMs, BB was disappointed because their plans had failed. She was given feedback after feedback of how she is invisible or just a doormat and Sree's shadow and Sree is bitching about her. She was taking stalk of the situation and Vikas came and gave her his thoughts. Sree was having a tiff with KV and Vikas. Not sure why this happened, but I feel Sree always had an issue with Vikas since beginning. KV was still searching for his character and a way to shine. It was obvious that pitting urself against Sree will give him that. Sree gave him enough reasons to switch. Dipika and Vikas are close, so he felt Dipika will turn against him too. Her supporting Vikas and KV made him believe she will ditch him again. So, he felt he was fooled by her again.
Sree likes being the center and everything to revolve around him. This is BB afterall. Everyone is here to win. So, KV and Dipika moving away made him dislike them more. And he started his abuse. KV retaliated and the fight happened. But, Dipika wasn't yelling at him. He put KV in prison and Sree said something to Dipika at the time and she didn't say a word against that, but was disgusted and tried leaving that showed on her face. Sree's face at that time is worth watching. More than any abuse, he was affected by her reaction. He says things and people call him whatever in return, but she didn't. When KV tried to bring it up, she stopped him.
Not sure, what happened after that, but he changed and nominated Happy Club. Even before that, even though Shristy, Jasleen and numerous others had tried distancing Dipika and getting in his inner circle. He still took Dipika's name in closed room "saving". In a game where no one can be trusted. He had trusted Dipika again, even after she had backstabbed. Everyone was telling her to backstab again and he felt she would do it too. Hence, he kept testing her. To see whom she favors. Hence, he was always interested in how she reacts and what she thinks when he is targeted. I know many thought this was due to crush, love, etc. But, I feel it's just wanting to know your place in some else's life. I can't explain this. But, imagine having a best friend, but never being sure what that best friend actually thinks of you. But, more than reality, they are in a game which rewards betrayals and you are always competitors and not a same team. So, conflict and distrust is built in.
I think, things started changing once Dipika made up her mind about him. She always walked on egg shells around him. Due to his health, his nature, being under scrutiny, feedback, etc. But, irrespective of what Sree said, he always supported her, when others were against her. He was protective openly and even secretively, when he saved her from being evicted. And I am sure, other things must have happened, which was never shown. She stopped walking on egg shells and started talking to him as a friend and yelled at him when he was being silly. He started throwing tantrums, but she would also get angry at him. Sree started apologizing, when he realized he crossed the line.
But, Dipika was still close to KV. So, he still wasn't sure which side she would turn. This is BB. All friends would never be in the finals. Only way KV gets there is by being against him. Now, the question is how does Dipika get there? Who is her priority? Sree, KV or herself? The chair task cleared this front of everyone. She had declared herself openly. Her actions used to prove this as well. But, openly declaring it cleared it for everyone.
They became closer and a common target for everyone in the house. Sree is easy to target. He can be easily provoked and HC knows this. But, words don't work on Dipika. She can maintain her dignity and eventually make you look bad. Prob with Megha and Sree is that they react on provocation. Anyways, HMs were trying everything to find Dipika's weakness. Why did she save Megha? Why don't you save Sree? yes - but Why didn't you save Megha or Jasleen? Why didn't you save KV? etc etc.
But, now Dipika is not affected by their questions. She is questioned whatever she does, when they themselves don't apply the same morality complex to themselves. So, why take all the non-sense. She started giving her logical arguments and that shut them up. Unlike Sree who shouts non-sense. She had started talking and her arguments made sense. This has messed up Surbhi now. Sree is saying that he reacts only when they target Dipika. Not sure I agree with that. But, Dipika definitely reacts only when they attack him. Because she is scared he might do something wrong.
She doesn't support the wrong things Sree says. But, she can definitely understand why he does it. He is provoked and he loses his cool and says anything under the sun. But, of all the people there, he is the only one who has been good to her. Moreover, he doesn't say things to provoke others, but rather retaliates (at least now). He still back bites. But, who is not back biting there? Moreover, in todays incidence. Surbhi clearly came to get a reaction and hit the jackpot. She pulled her big guns. No one had talked about the slapgate for teasing before. She hit below the belt. She tried a low tactic yesterday, saying sree chest bumped her and had shown him the finger. She knew she lost of points yesterday. She needed an offense for Sree. So, she could defend herself in WKW. Sree resisted for long, but fell pray to it eventually.
We will see what happens tomorrow. Sree is being questioned (and rightly so). But, for the first time BB has shown the complete picture. The ED also showed how many times Surbhi tried provoking them and that it was all planned. Obviously, Sree needs to control his language. But, I doubt Surbhi will go scot free. And unlike KV, Sree or Dipika won't change due to a few words by Salman. Sree might throw more tantrums, but Dipika knows how to control him and where to draw the line.
These 2 trust and understand each other completely now. They will surely be in the finals. But, the journey won't be easy. They will be continuously targeted. The problem is that the other party crosses all lines and they are supposed to maintain their high standards. Lets see how it unravels. But, I really hope they don't get manipulated and split due to any thing.
Also - do check out the videos posted by Kriti in "Dipika clears the air!" thread. It gives a glimpse of the BTS discussions, which BB doesn't include in main episodes any longer.
