I think that there is something more going on between Dipika and Sree than just friendship... I think what these two share is an extraordinary friendship. Friends who are not 'just good friends' but feel emotionally connected to make lifelong brother sister connections.
In any friendship there will be a level of protectiveness and possessiveness. In BBH everything works like as in a pressure cooker. Everything is highlighted and exaggerated. And both the contestants as the viewers (SK also) are at the mercy of BB production and editing. They hold the strings. We only see what they want us to see / imagine. And in a way we get brainwashed.. The power of media.
We care for and love someone in friendship and have the need to protect them. But also to be exclusive with them (possessiveness). Without exclusiveness how will be bond and connect? Only if there is trust you can let your guards down. And there is (enough) trust between them and space to clear misunderstandings up.
Sree and Dipika are both visibly expressive emotional persons. Sree acts out on his emotions in a very impulsive way and Dipika is quite composed. Though there is an understanding between them. A connection. And moreover a willingness to commit and see their relationship / friendship through.
Dipika is that person for Sree. He feels he has the right and the obligation to protect his sister from anyone who is in his mind misbehaving with her. At the same time, he feels that in BBH he has the sole right, as her brother, to pick fights with her, say what's on his mind and heart. Only he can say and do this to her. From anybody else he will not accept it. Sree knows that Dipika is loyal. He has (unknowingly?) tested it and she has proven herself. She has argued with him but she has never abused him or gone so low like most in the house.
Sree will not except it from anybody else and Dipika will not allow anybody else.
Sree has made a lot of sisters in the house, but that is on another level. The connection is less intense and perhaps less sincere than with Dipika.
Dipika from the start had another loyal brother. KV. In nature, Dipika and KV are a bit alike. Often Sree will taunt Dipika to go to her other brother. Her real brother. I think he says that to her out of insecurity. Yes, there is a jealousy, a competition. When it comes to emotional outlets Sree is in need of someone like Dipika. Dipika needs him too. She feels she needs to take care of him. She has taken on that responsibility.
They are like Venom [Marvel] together. They live in symbiosis together. Together at their best. Apart they are not unnoticed (even if one does not see Dipika, she is being talked about, perhaps credit of Sree) but drawn to each other. Even though Sree comes out stronger on screen and in the game, he needs Dipika more in this house than the other way around because Dipika is in BBH the reason for keeping his sanity.
I have seen some comments on why Dipika does not allow Jasleen or Shrishti near Sree. It is her instinct. She knows she has to get him alone to get through to him and to calm him down. In this extraordinary friendship she too shows her protectiveness and possessiveness towards him.
Turned quite a long story.. Not sure if it makes sense.
I am more or less the same when it comes to siblings. If anyone else abuses them I am ready to go to battle But if I would pick fights with them, it's my right.
