Oh my darling, did I hear from you at last? I am so moved to see posts from you Garu Ramya and all. Fond memories flooding me re. So double thanks a bunch Rati jaana - above tribute to the real beauty of India and getting all my beautiful friends together here.
All friends, it was just fantabulous to read you all, see you all, hear you all and hug you all. Hugs!

Jhansi ki Rani - one who has fascinated me since my childhood and fascinated my mother equally. Like Maharana who I have immense regards for, Rani is my foremost among women brave hearts and a freedom fighter. I have no words to say, I feel so little to even talk of her. In those days when we knew how women were viewed, she was a lioness, a lion among men. Her thirst for freedom, live for her motherland, care for her Praja - hats off! No wonder that she was the Rani of the hearts of her people and many of us forever. Our motherland is indeed blessed to have given birth to her and other great ones like Maharana. I salute thee oh great Rani and the pride of India!

I am blessed to be reminded of her today. Thanks so much Rati.
Btw, yaara, is Jhansi show good. Was thinking of watching it after I ditched MRP.

Hi Kaana!!! so glad to see you here!
you're welcome! hugs!!!

women like Lakshmibai, Durgawati, Ahilyabai Holkar and others inspire so many women!!

you're welcome, I figured this way we would all come to discuss!
ok so like other shows, JKR show has its lame tracks - i only found one or two tracks that were unwarrented, but all of the show is online and my family enjoyed it, even the freedom struggle was very much like has been recorded in history so its pretty consistent with folklore and history, give it a try, a little disclaimer - lakshmibai's husband wasnt too into the freedom struggle nor was he so in love with her, but otherwise its a good show! and let me know what you think!

Unress -

Thanks for putting the thread up RatišŸ‘šŸ¼

Rani Lakshmibai most definitely was is and will always be a role model for women in India and worldwide and the leading face of nascent freedom fighters - right up there with Shivaji and Pratap.

interestingly, to draw connotation, Subhash Chandra Bose named the first female unit of his Indian National army after her.

I have to say that her upbringing played a major role in the way she shaped up! So kudos to her father - Moropant Tambe for being an amazing mentor to her! He taught her to be brave, fearless and diminished the gender discrimination (which unfortunately still prevails worldwide!)

You're welcome!
Yup Bose did do that, my grandma would talk about that!
Jkr rose above the discrimination and made all Indians very proud!

You're welcome!
Its a pretty good show, if you get to the part of second marriage track of jkr's husband, and this after kratika sengar has joined, you want to skip that part
