Despite some incriminating circumstantial evidence...I don't think in his heart US is willing to accept that Pratap is guilty. But if Pratap doesn't speak up despite being given ample opportunity to do so, he'll have no one to blame but himself for whatever punishment befalls him.

According to history us nominates jagmal to be his next heir to the throne. But the people of Mewad wont go along and bring up Pratap to rule them and that is how he succeeds. I believe this is the reason behind all the current nonsense. I believe US will kick Pratap out of chittod as punishment rather than Mrutudand but he will emerge eventually as the next successor to king.
