I was seriously thinking of skipping the drama today but the fight scene pulled me in!
Title: Matrubhoomi ki mitti vs Mughalon ka kaaton waala Gulab
changezi-pratap fight - ok it started out in changezi's favour as all fights do lol
Ajabdeh's pooja- very cliched but I liked it- the way she was praying to Mahadevji- now that she is going to be Sisodiya vansh ki bahu she has started praying to Shivji- nicely done! And I loved how the lighting was done- very twilight feel- not light or dark- but the window was open and the light was piercing thru, a feeling of hope was in the atmosphere!
US-JB scene- bete ke shaadi mei baap romance ke mood mei hai? haha! well JB looked beautiful! the way she turned was classic! saala US poet bann gaya- line maar raha hai JB pe haha! romance me break aaya when a soldier informs them of the river situation
Back to the action packed scene with Pratap's music playing in the bg- Pratap figures out that if you put mitti on yourself you can be safe from the currents! nice going! mitti ka face pack and body pack haha! well Pratap said it perfectly- Matrubhoomi ki mitti- only he can think that, cuz we think ewww thats mud!
well I loved how he was beating him with a whip- and of course changezi looks like he is dead but the minute they approach him, he gets up and Pratap in full style throws his khanjar at him!!!! yaay!
US knows better and says he came here to die he wasnt going to go into captivity alive! But our Pratap knows all cuz he is sooo observant- yeh Sherlock ka baap hai! lol- Pratap said that changezi used rose perfume to subdue his bad smell- I dont think it works for changezi lol- rose=mughal!!
Rose- today they likened the rose with mughals- its an appropriate symbol because it was the mughals who brought the rose into the country (at least i think they did). But symbolically we see that the rose is beautiful on top, it gives you a very nice feeling on seeing it, but as soon as you try to pick it up, it cuts you with its innumerable thorns!! And that is the relationship mughals share with India- you can argue that they built so many buildings, architectural marvels, etc, but if you look at the treatment of different religions in the empire, it was not good, it was filled with thorns! from afar it looks great but when peek in, look into the empire you see the thorns, you feel the thorns, the threats, its not like jalal ever did most of his dirty work, he had others do it, so thats why there were so many thorns! And those thorns have left a bitter taste and bitter history that keeps coming back and for that you can blame the mughals (and then later the brits). I mean how many have you gone to a historic site where they say oh there was a temple here and now its a mughal palace, im not being communal, but I am simply stating the truth, I am not anti-any religion but I am anti-mughal and yes there is a difference!
So I would say that today it was mitti vs rose- mitti provides coolness, and is used for many things, in construction, pots, etc- lets just say that mitti is universal and has multiple purposes. On the other hand you have roses- well apart from the smell, and beauty you cant really do much with it! its like beauty- its only limited to the skin, its all about appearances! But the use of ittar by Changezi is symbolic because he is the face of mughal conspiracy, thats the real face and to put on rose ittar is a way to fool others!
last scene- I loved how Ajabdeh came to Pratap to find out about his wounds- it was beautifully shown- Ajabdeh tells Pratap that you are trying to cover up your wounds, and that he cant hide them from her! well they are soulmates and if she was feeling his pain while he was getting attacked then how can he hide his wounds! All in all it was a nice scene till all the drama creeped into the room!
Ok what is this natak- so Ajabdeh met Pratap before getting married, I hope they dont show more natak or apshakun stuff- its soo petty- in the old days the reason for not meeting the bride was because they were afraid that they would cross their maryada (you understand what I mean? hehe), so that there is no physical contact these rules were made (in every culture) because the groom could easily say no after he got what he "wanted" and the girl would just be left- so such rules were made- but seriously they are kids, I dont think they have reached that stage yet so stop making it a big deal!!!!
precap- more natak of US calling MM and HB because of finding Ajabdeh in Pratap's room!
I liked the fight scene, praja scene and US-JB scene! other scenes were blah!

PS: Since today is Sept 11 when terrorism went global- let me give my two cents on terrorism- basically if you dont talk about terrorists, if media doesnt talk about them, people will not know them, people will not fear them, they will be nobodies! terrorist thrive on publicity, they thrive on our fear for them, if we become fearless and if we dont talk about them, they will be powerless, its all in the mind!
