CHAPTER 2 - Realization
Pratap entered the college with his best friend, Chakrapani. Chakrapani noticed the tension on Pratap's face. "Oye! Kya hua? Tere chehre ka rang itna uda hua kyun h?" ( P.S. - Mujhe DB ki yaad aa gayi! :P )
Pratap, who was lost in his world came back to Earth after Chakrapani shook him. "huh? Main bilkul theek hun...kuch bhi toh nahi hua.", he replied nervously.
"Ok!", Chakrapani replied, looking at him awkwardly. Soon, the bell rang and everybody rushed to their respective classes. Pratap's first class was not with Ajabde.
Both, Pratap and Chakrapani went to their respective classrooms. Even though Pratap was physically present in the class but his mind was elsewhere. He was just thinking about Ajabde.
In the break, when everybody was sitting in the canteen, Ajabde entered with Phool. She nervously looked around to find Pratap but he was nowhere to be seen. She heaved a sigh of relief.
But destiny had other plans. Pratap soon came after purchasing his things from the counter. Both their tables were facing each other. Both of them looked at each other and gulped.
Chakrapani saw Ajabde and Phool and requested them to join them on their table. Ajabde nervously nodded and both them went to sit with the guys. There was an unusual silence between the four of them.
All the three, except Chakrapani were sitting as if someone had died. To lighten the mood and he started talking randomly. After a while when he did not get any response from anyone, even he sat quietly.
Ajabde entered the class with few of her friends. As she entered she looked at Pratap who was busy reading something. Pratap sensed someone looking at him. He immediately looked at her and smiled. Even she smiled back.
She excused herself from her friends and started moving towards Pratap. She was captivated by his cute smile and beautiful, dark eyes. She went to him and sat next to him.
"Hey!", she said.
"Hi"
"umm..what are you reading?", she said wanting to start a conversation with him.
"Nothing much, just a random novel.", he shrugged.
"Ohh! So you like reading novels?"
"Yeah", he gave a cute, small smile.
"Don't you?", asked Pratap. But she was totally in another world. She did not listen what he was saying. She was just looking at him without a blink.
"Ajabde?", he shook her by shoulders.
"huh?", she came out of her dreamland.
"Where were you lost?", he asked chuckling.
"Sorry, I was thinking about someone...I mean something", she spoke looking down, embarrassed.
"Hmm..It's ok"
Soon the professor entered and the class started. They had their concentration on each other. Whatever the professor was speaking fell to deaf ears.
"PRATAP! AJABDE! Concentrate.", Professor shouted.
"Yes sir!" both looked at each other and tried to concentrate on the studies.
Soon they both started spending much time with each other. They used to study together. Pratap used to pick and drop Ajabde every day. Even though she resisted in the beginning but soon agreed.
Both became pretty close to each other. They used to share their each and every secret with each other except one. Ajabde never had the courage to tell Pratap about the marriage lie and Pratap, being scared of her reaction chose to keep quite.
One day when Phool came to Ajabde's house, she found Ajabde daydreaming. She shook her and brought her back to the world.
"Kiske khayalo me khoi hui thi?", phool asked mischievously. Ajabde blushed.
"Oh my god! Are you blushing?", phool exclaimed, shocked. Ajabde blushed harder.
"May I know the reason behind this?"
"Actually, I have started liking someone!", Ajabde said shyly.
"Naam?"
"Tu jaanti hai use."
"Main toh kitne ladko ko jaanti hun. Ab unme se kaun?"
"Arrey guess kar na."
"Offo! Seedhe seedhe bata"
"Pratap!", Ajabde whispered.
"What?", she asked shocked, with mouth wide open.
"Itni shocked kyun lag rahi h?"
"woh actually maine expect nahi kiya tha ki tu Pratap ka naam legi, isliye" Phool tried to come out of the state of shock.
There even Pratap was lost in Ajabde's thoughts. Well, this was kind of usual for him. It was in his routine. He remembered how they met for the first time and smiled.
Flashback
It was the first day of college. Everybody was pretty excited. A new journey of their respective lives was going to start. Some were roaming around with their new friends.
Whereas some were trying take in the new atmosphere of the college. Everybody was busy with their own work and were quite engrossed in it.
A black car stopped in front of the college gate and a beautiful girl came out. She was wearing a beautiful pink dress with very little makeup and a cute handbag in her hand.
Another girl followed her, speaking to someone on her phone. It seemed as if she was scolding someone.
The first girl turned back to look at her friend while walking and suddenly banged into something or maybe someone. She anticipated that she would hit the hard floor.
But when nothing happened, she slowly opened her one eye to look whether she was alright. She found herself in a boy's arms. She looked up to see who the person was.
Pratap just entered the college from the side gate. He took all his belongings and was proceeding towards the locker room. He suddenly banged into something soft and delicate.
His hands automatically went around the person's waist to prevent her from falling. (I know typical hindi movie scene! :P :D)
He looked at the girl in his arms. A beautiful, innocent face. She slowly opened her eyes, and Pratap was just lost in those eyes. Hecould not take his eyes off her.
As soon as she opened her eyes she looked at a smart and cute boy holding her. She was continuously looking at him and his sharp features. She snapped out of her fantasy when Phool came running to her.
He helped her straighten up. He looked down.
"Ajabde! Ajabde!", Phool came shouting.
"Finally, you at least remember that I am also here.", Ajabde said sarcastically.
"Sorry!", Phool muttered.
"It's ok.", she smiled.
"Let's go."
"Haan, Just a second!"
She turned to Pratap and cutely smiled.
"Thank You!", she expressed her heart felt gratitude.
Pratap smiled in return. He nodded and went away. Ajabde was just looking at him while he was going. Even after he was out of sight, Ajabde was just looking in that direction. Phool had to bring her back.

He came out of his thoughts, hearing his phone ringing. E looked at the caller ID, Chakrapani. He picked up the phone.
"There's a party tonight."
"College party?"
"Hmm... seniors de rahe hain."
"Who all are coming?", he asked just to know whether Ajabde was coming or not.
"I don't know."
"Oh!", he was disappointed.
"But I know that Phool and Ajabde are coming."
"They are?", an automatic smile came on his face.
"Yeah! Why so excited?", Chakrapani asked confused.
"Nothing.", he cut the call.
"Phool, what should I wear?"
"Why are you thinking so much about it? You were never so much fussy about dressing before."
"Phool! As if you don't know.", Ajabde glared at Phool.
"Ok! Ok! Show me"
Both were excited for the party. All they wanted was that time should move faster. But they didn't know what destiny had in store for them.
Next - Party time. Will they confess their love?
