Yes, he definitely seems a lot more solemn.
I actually want to commend the creatives on that. Loosing a friend can be so traumatic and the way Pratap has reacted was believable. His anguish and sadness were displayed very well by Faizal.

I'm not very familiar with Maharana Pratap and his story, but I definitely wonder if this event (if its true at all) was one of the things that shaped him into the anti-outsider's man he became later on. After all, his best friend was murdered by an outsider, an enemy. That would make a big impact on anyone. And as far as I know, Pratap was super against letting the Mughals into his circles. He condemned people who made deals with the Mughals and everything. I don't know, I thought it was interesting.

On another note, as another poster mentioned, these last few episodes have been really emotionally packed. The way everyone has been reacting seems pretty realistic, despite this show being based years before. Good job to the writers on that too!

Exactly! In fact, I just mentioned this a few replies ago. The way Pratap is reacting to this all is just sooo realistic! Though I do hope that with time he becomes - not his old self - but a wee bit more childy child. Poor Pratap 😭

Som's death did change Pratap overnight. His only friend, playmate and partner in adventure died to save his life.
Som was the only one who loved Pratap unconditionally and never expected anything from him.

Now there is no one in Pratap's life who offers him that kind of attachment yet sense of freedom and abandon. His childhood went away with Som I guess.

He now realises he has to be with people he is left with and make relations work with them. Understandbly he does not want to lose anyone.

Also I think this sacrifice has made him feel more responsible now. He wouldn't want sacrifice of his dear friend to go waste.

Guru ji has also left now. So probably Pratap also wants to honour the faith that Guru ji showed in him by declaring him his best student.

Now Pratap has realised he has to march alone.

He is also hardening himself to prepare himself for future - which will be tougher.

It's a difficult transition for him. Almost as if he had to "grow up" and "mature" overnight.
