It is announced that on the occasion of the birth of a new prince the king will distribute gifts among his subjects . nearby Shamz khan and his confidante are engaged in a conversation. Shamz khan tells the reason of his going to prison- he wanted to see if he can be recognized by Udai and others.. And as he was not discovered he can now plot to kill Pratap from close quarters.He is told by his fellow confidante that he can be thrown in prison for 15 yr s. Shamz says his life long ambition is killing pratap and he can do anything to achieve it even wait for a long time to make it happen.
Bhatiyani's new born is is given the drop of jamam ghuti and named by Pratap at the insistence of Bhatiyani.. who does not leave the opportunity to drive home the point that she believes her son will not be harmed by her step brother Pratap.Udai is impressed. Pratap names the young prince Jagmal.The havan area is very hot.. Dai ma tells jayvanta that it is not a good omen... Jayvanta advises the old lady to be positive... Pratap gifts a dagger to his brother and elicits a promise from Bhatiyani that it will be the first weapon the young prince uses..
Bhatiyani tells Pratap to win the best student award by defeating Shakti.. Pratap who doesnot have any competitive jealousy with his brother mentions that he wants to be the challenger to Shakti but he wouldnot mind if he loses to his brother.
Bhatiyani thinks out loud saying she will make sure Pratap loses the competiton and also falls from the high expectation standards of Udai singh..
Morning of the completion..
Udai gives Pratap a jewel that his mother had give him.. It brings good luck to the wearer and so Dajiraj wanted his son to have it for the last leg of the competiton. Pratap is happy at the gesture..
The wrestling bout begins for Pratap with a challenger.. Raghavendra announces that the winner will challenge Shakti and that bothe Pratap and Shakti have been exemplary students and equally good.. Therefore the winner would just be winning only a title.
The bout begins after Pratap and his friend agree to not tarnish their friendship with the outcome of the result.
The fight is a close one where Pratap emerges a winner.
Shakti tells him that it is time now to decide between him and Pratap who is the best..
Bhatiyani tries to reason with her logic with Udai to stop the king from making up his mind from making Pratap his successor...
She makes her case saying it will be unfair to Shakti as he too is equally capable of being the king and the king should think hard before arriving at a decision.. Udai doesnot want to decide the future of Mewar on the basis of a mere gurukul competition between the princes. Bhatiyani tells Udai to speak to Sajja and make her understand his POV before doing anything..
Sajja tells Shakti that Bhatiyani has promised her that she will ask the king to choose the prince as an heir who wins the gurukul competition. Bhatiuani comes begging forgiveness saying the king wants to crown Pratap as his successor only and he is unwilling to make the gurukul competition as a judging parameter for the future of Mewar.. Sajja is very disheartened and Shakti angered to the power extreme.. Pratap is practicing his archery by keeping a sack on Som's head.
This is being done at Som's behest as it pressurizes Pratap to not falter with his arrow.Shakti comes there and informs Pratap of not competing with him since Udai has already decided to make Pratap his successor.
Chudavat informs Udaithat Shamz khan as behind the plot to kill Pratap and is currently in Mewar.
Pratap arrives announces in the darbar of Udai and interrupts this discussion by asking an audience with the king.
Udai is not happy but agrees to listen to him. Pratap questions why Udai is planning to make him the heir tot he throne and not Shakti? Udai is furious on hearing it. He forbids Pratap to act as a spokesperson for Shakti and calls for him to speak directly to the king about his objections..
Pratap and Chudavat are taken aback at seeing this angry side of Udaising. š
