Rani, I read your post. I wrote elsewhere that Runjhun mentions Abhi matter-of-factly but to Guddu, who does not know what transpired with Abhi (I am guessing), Abhi is a wrong name to him in that moment. It casts doubts for him. I am all smiles that the past is in their faces. It is so needed to be resolved.
Agree with all else you wrote.

Especially considering the scenes he remembered the most...He doesn't know about Abhi asking for the medical test (he'd left by then) but the scenes that seem to stick in his memory...is the first that Abhigyaan calls Runjhun his to-be dharampatni...considering how Guddu uses the term dharampatni...and Abhigyaan stepping in when he'd thought he brought Runjhun down. Then he remembers Abhigyaan touching Runjhun when she's bleeding (😆 I know me and my touches...) We know how touches were important for them and have gradually eased in...the next time when Abhigyaan tells Guddu that Runjhun and he are one, and that he will be her shield he will be the one to protect her. Then when he sold/auctioned Runjhun's items.

This scene seems to play in his mind the most...I think what happened between Runjhun was the elephant of their past in the room present subconsciously even thought they were getting more comfortable and with Mahadevi and Jabbo, their insecurities are being brought forefront.

Even Runjhun when Abhigyaan was mentioned by Mahdevi seemed a little bothered to me.

Highlights:
I felt that Guddu appeared scared and conflicted about what is happening to him.
Runjhun started to depend on him so easily and expressing her emotions and inner turmiol - like crying, feeling hurt.
Runjhun made a mistake of mentioning Abhigyan in front of Guddu, who is losing his equilibrium and he was jolted back to reality.
Both their emotions are so well portrayed and edited, I was ecstatic.
Ok, so here I go... my Master's thesis...
In the past few weeks, Guddu has become comfortable and complacent in his exixtence. Runjhun has cajoled, cuddled and pushed him and because of the way he is starting to see Runjhun he has gone along with it, slowly and steadily. It made sense in his current situation. His once formed hatred changed to revenge, changed to need ($ for his Amma) and he, without thinking of consequences jumped into a marriage that he knew nothing about. He HATED Runjhun and now he is seeing a side of her that leaves him awestruck, in a way. There is a new respect for her, a certain camaraderie as well. At one point before his marriage, in his revenge mode, he mentions to his buddies that he does not understand how Runjhun does not react and is so stoic. Now he is starting to see her in a totally different light and in the process he has unwittingly subjected himself to introspection. He is changing..
Guddu has known a certain life until now, where he is boss. When things got difficult for Jabbo, Jabbo in his selfishness used choice words to descibe the changes in Guddu. Jabbo in a way brought him back to reality as Guddu knew it just a few days ago. Guddu does not give in to anyone. So with the challenge back on the front burner, Guddu is contemplative. He has feelings but he has self-preservation at his fingertips.
The conflict seen today is that he is resurrecting the old Guddu, but Runjhun has not disappeared yet - she is very much a presence in his life. He knows her better and each time she is an underdog, his personality comes into action and he jumps up to "save" her. He would do it for others - did it for Mahadevi too, knowing what Jabbo is all about! But he is also not aware overtly that he has developed feelings for Runjhun - feelings he does not know or understand. They are not like the love for his mother. These feelings are coming from his "haq" (rights) as her husband - shouting Dharampatni, Runjhun SHUKLA! He is attracted to her, he is willing to shield her from evil. What are these feelings?
Then Runjhun mentions Abhigyan. He is introspective on 2 fronts that he never considered Runjhun's feelings when he married her or broke up her engagement to Abhigyan. Instrospection kicks in. What will the outcome be? He is confused and will act out until he reaches a conclusion of what he really wants - the life as he knew it or the life he has entered into with Runjhun, willingly, I might add.
Runjhun craves love and acceptance and only knows duty. Runjhun is very malleable because that has been her existence. She is doing her part as Guddu's wife as expected by Amma. In the process she cared for him, understood him, and wanted to gentrify him so that he is not known as the topmost goon of Kannauj.
Today she was REALLY needy and who do you think she went to? Guddu of course, and not Amma, because she knew he can act and get results. He would understand where she is coming from. She DEPENDS on him. She does not realize overtly either that her feelings are changing for him. She was reminded about her existence by Mahadevi just like Jabbo did for Guddu.
She is hurt today and who does she seek solace from? The one person she has settled into life comfortably and complacently with - Guddu - and he does not disappoint her. He rolls up his sleeve and says who and I will "take care" of that person. When she mentions Abhigyan, she is not mentioning him in a forlorn or wistful sort of way. She says it matter-of-factly. Little does she know that Guddu HAS changed and he ignored it once yesterday but mentioned again today, he will need to evaluate and assess all this in his current state of mind. (We the viewers know all this but the characters don't.)
Both Guddu and Runjhun fell into a situation and tried to make the most of it - challenge or not. But neither of them dealt with the terrible past that brought them to this juncture. It was too traumatic for Runjhun and Guddu was hell-bent on getting his revenge. Neither ever verbalized until now. I would be terribly disappointed with the CVs if they did not bring this up. My hats off to them for bringing in the parallels - Jabbo and Mahadevi - to explain away the conflicts.
CVs, please continue doing what you do best - tell us a story in your own way. I have no beef at all! I loved today's episode.
Please give me your thoughts. I will not be hurt if you say I am wrong in any of this. I am one of Bee's "Newcomers". Please share...

With this post already 3 pages long, I HAVE to quote the entire post. So, sorry - whoever thinks it is such a waste of space... hey! c'mon disk space is inexpensive these days 😉

Gardes, Such a well written post! I can never write something about emotions and relationships that you and some of the others write so well. I was in awe of this post when I was reading it.

Oh! BTW I don't consider you "newcomer" !!! I know how much I must have tortured you with my gushing about this show when you did not wanted to watch it and I never realized what i had done. I had so much impact on you that you came to watch this show post G-R marriage!

That is so right, Gardes, that introspection was needed. For both G & R. It makes perfect sense and look, CVs give that to us!!! Isn't that commendable. And what a perfect timing. When we are all so lost in G-R nok-jhoks and getting comfortable and thinking what next, look what they brought as 'what-next' ! Superb! Both J & M are just catalysts in this introspection track.

I would just like to elaborate a little on the Abhigyaan thing.
When she mentions Abhigyaan, she says - "M thinks that I am jealous that my marriage did not happen with Abhigyaan. How do I say that is not the case". Here she clearly means to say that I am not jealous that she could not marry Abhigyaan. She isn't crying bcos she could not marry Abhigyaan. She is actually crying bcos M thinks wrong about her. She is upset that M think wrong abt her. That she doesn't think abt Abhigyaan at all and why is she bringing up abt him now. What she couldn't tell G was that she isn't crying bcos she couldn't marry Abhi, that she is okay with her marriage to G. This was such an important thing, that clearly G did not understand. How could he understand, the very mention of Abhi's name had hit his raw nerve to even keep his brain okay to make him able to understand that! That was such a punching moment brought in so simplistically! (Just like you gently throw a dice when playing a game!).

Wafah, I had to re-watch the flashback scenes. You are so right!! Abhi touches Runjhun 2 times at least... not counting the time they are beating him up and he falls in Runjhun's lap. The main thing to note here is that Runjhun does not shy away from his touch... esp when he grabbed her hand when she cut it. He's seeing how Abhi is basically the type of guy she is trying to change him into... right? And then he remembers Runjhun's reaction on seeing that he was the one who married her...

I didn't realize Guddu doesn't know about the testing thing. So Guddu only remembers the brave Abhi who stood by Runjhun... hmm.

OMG, I just watched the aired version and the best scene today for me was the part where Guddu is shown getting dressed in his gunda-like pre-wedding clothes and he is talking himself into not falling for Runjhun and her sweet-talk. And Lo Ji, here is Runjhun, sobbing, closing the door and entering the room. Guddu does a slow motion and looks at her sobbing away and he melts faster than butter in a frying pan!
I was doubling up with laughter. In all the seriousness of the episode where the elephant in the room is now being made visible, there was so much drama, and yet plenty of humor.
For some reason, I seem to get it best when I watch the aired version.

Agreed. I watch Bhagonwali twice... once on my laptop when I get home to get the gist and then when it airs on Zee. 😆 It must be the bigger screen... lol.

I officially dislike Mahadevi!!!!! Before yesterday's episode, I had mixed feelings about her but now I seriously don't like her😡 I really didn't like the way she spoke to Runjhun today😡 I guess the only cousin of Runjhun's that is not really rude towards her is Babli. I wonder if Babli goes to boarding school because we don't see her much on the show. In fact, she is shown less than Diamond & Devi. Maybe that's why Babli is nicer to her than Diamond & Devi- she spends a lot less time in PN which means she spends a lot less time around her evil parents. So in conclusion, she is under less amount of bad influence than Diamond & Devi.

I was lookin' foreward to a cute Jabevi love story but it turned out to not be so cute. I think Devi & that guy, whatever his name is, look really bad together. Devi said that something is gonna go wrong after she marries him. I wonder if her marriage to this guy is even gonna last? I told my sister a day or two ago that "Bhagonwali" is a show that pays tribute to "the bad boy" & I guess for at least a moment I thought all optimistically about Jabevi since Runjhun ended up w/our Gudduwa so I thought maybe Devi will get her bad boy as well but now I don't know what the heck is gonna happen w/Jabevi & I don't know where the writers are goin' w/ Jabbo. I never really disliked him until now. He is a bad inluence on Guddu. Guddu's mom would want him to stay w/Runjhun, not leave her after the 30 days are up. Guddu forgot about the challenge & now it looks like he forgot about givin' his mom a grandchild😆 Anyways, baby Gunjika will have to wait because Gunjhun needs to work on their marital issues. In today's episode. it seems like Guddu was listening to Jabbo but by the end of it, he seemed conflicted. Guddu can talk all he wants about winning the challenge but their is part of him that has lost, a part of him that has fallen- his heart. He has lost his heart to Runjhun. Now we're waitin' for him to turn his fallen heart inside out more. For ex. giving Runjhun a big hug, telling her that he loves her. Of course it's not like he hasn't done this at all- I'm thinkin' of the pink sari & flowers he got her which was sooo sweet of him. I feel he got a chance to give her a hug today, while she was crying over what meanie Mahdevi said to her but he didn't bother to go through w/it which is understandable & (I'm not gonna get into why it's understandable) I wonder if the bar dancer episode is gonna air this week & if this dancer is the mysterious Neelu?

One more thing I wanted to say was about J & Mdevi. CVs clearly know what they have done, especially with J. They know that they did this drastic change in that character and somewhere it kind of feels like they themselves were not comfortable with that part, but they HAD to do it .. They had to do it for the sake of this introspection track between G-R and that is the main reason why both J and Mdevi's scenes have light/funny undertone to them.

At one end, there is this change to J's characters and at the same time, they are trying to underplay it as much as they can with the hope that they can fix this thing at a later time.

I am sure THAT is the case, and I am not seeing too much from those scenes to come to the above conclusion!

That is the main reason why I have no beef with CVs doing this change with J's character drastically and I cannot be angry at both J & Mdevi. Hence though Mdevi is accusing R of what she has not even thought of, she is being shown more silly than serious in her accusations (with all those silly cries, rubbing of her nose, applying nail-polish while crying etc etc).
It the same thing with J too. (when he is trying to tell G has infact changed and hitting his raw nerve (unknowingly though) bringing in Abhi).
